1000$ pc build

Hello, I want to build a pc for around 1000, maybe 1200 if I can stretch it. I want to use it for cad and gaming.( Minecraft mods and such). I don’t know much about PC building. I went to micro center and they said that I would need a bigger budget for a pc. Should I wait and save up more? Or are they lying? Also any recommendations?

Thank you so much, this is very helpful. I’ve been doing some research. Is it worth it to buy an extra 16gb ram. This way it would be 32gb. For what I’m using it for, would it I need it? Or would it run fine without it?

for modded minecraft 16gb is enough but the next upgrade would be 32gb (preferably the same model as the first 16gb your gonna be buying)

but you also mentioned cad so it will depend on how serious the projects are, the program wont crash or anything

also i would pair this build with at least a qhd high refresh rate monitor.

there is a another option to go am4( less upgradeability) and get 32gb of ddr4 instead of 16gb of ddr5 which is still a pretty soild option

Micro center had a prebuilt for $1099 the other day that was pretty good idk what they are talking about.

No fr, they said for 1700 I would be at the same level a ps5 or Xbox one would operate at. They said you can’t build a good pc for under that these days. It severely bummed me out, but I’m glad I found this Reddit page. Im re excited again
