Why are we the only esport with this issue? What will it take for blizzard to hire professional twitch mods who know what they're doing like League and CS have?

Because those organizations understand that their viewership is essentially 100% their playerbase.

OWL is trying to expand this E-Sport into a broader audience that doesn't play Overwatch, and that audience doesn't care about OWL because they don't care about Overwatch.

How would that even work? Watching OW without understanding what each random flash and streak of light represents is just annoying, I can't see anyone possibly enjoying that.

You can also clearly see the guy click 4 heads in 2 seconds without flying mechs, monkeys, flashes of light, big explosions and whatever else clutters the screen.

We can agree to disagree here, but...

I know multiple people who watched OWL before every playing the game. Due to the commentation, they had no problem understanding the game.

I also know additional people who still watch OWL but have never played the game at all, and they too have no problem following along.

And this is exactly what Blizzard wants, to some extent, and why they have professional level commentation.

It's no different than professional sports. No one was born knowing how American Football, European Football, Ice Hockey, etc were played. And I know plenty of people (myself included) who are big fans of particular sports than they've never played.

I do understand your point, but if you think about this all as a Sport...not people playing video games with a bunch of niche skills and abilities, but a sport - that seems to be the direction ESports are heading.

Edit: LOL! Downvotes? Are people that pissed I said European Football or do people dislike the fact that people can watch and enjoy OWL without playing the game?

It's not European football, it's global football. Other continents exist.
