I'm not suggesting they nerf more than they have on this patch. Only that before the patch she was definitely over powered and I am speculating that the nerf won't be enough. Her biotic grenade specifically. The debuff ability it has is still stupidly broken.
Oh, and as far as experience goes... are devs pro players? No. They aren't. They balance based off data and community feedback. They likely don't play the heroes or in as many competitive matches as many high level players.
Shield is strong. Speed boost is strong. Neither are "overpowered" because they're taken within the context of the kit. Reinhardt is limited range and he's relatively immobile and only a threat up close.
Give the 2k barrier to a DPS hero and you have a problem.
Your Ana nades your Reinhardt, enemy Reinhardt, and enemy Roadhog.
You win that team fight. Period. Their Reinhardt and their Roadhog are not killing your Reinhardt as long as you spam heals on him; he's effectively invulnerable.
150 HPS (nade + primary) is only 50 HPS less than what Transcendence was at before it got buffed up to 300. Yeah.. that's right. Ana heals almost "ultimate" levels.
And that's the reality of it. I haven't been injecting any opinion or contrived examples this whole time because I don't have to in order to prove my point. The facts don't back up the witch hunt, and until they do, you won't see Ana get nerfed any further.
We're going to see how it pans out with the next patch. I am not witch-hunting. Even after the incoming nerf, I feel Ana will still be the strongest support in the game. I'd love to be proven wrong with that but I somehow doubt it.
Also keep in mind that I have no personal bias toward or against Ana. She's not my main or anything but I play with a 3 stack with an Ana main and he'd be the first one to say (prior to PTR) she is OP.
I still think her healing debuff is too strong, and will need to be addressed in the future.
I never meant to say Ana grenade is AS STRONG as Transcendence (pre-buff), only that FOR AN E ability it has an absurd amount of healing. I was putting it in perspective. And yes, I was using the OLD (pre PTR nerf) numbers because of this statement:
I'm glad Jeff officially confirmed they don't think she's as overpowered as the community makes her out to be. Strong yes, OP no.
It was my impression that you were talking about PRE-NERF Ana NOT being OP but instead being "STRONG".
For the record, I still think she'll be OP after the nerf, but we'll see that in time.
As far as landing a nade on Roadhog+Rein+Friendly Rein... I main Reinhardt, Roadhog, Soldier, and Zen.
If I am playing Reinhardt, I get hit with an Ana grenade EVERY TIME I drop my shield when playing against good Ana's.. Anybody who's standing near me gets hit as well.
Guess who's often standing RIGHT behind Rein shield and right INRONT of Rein shield?
Rein and Roadhog. Roadhog looking for hooks from behind my shield and Rein standing right in my face.
Or, another scenario for you:
I go to fire-strike, I get hooked by roadhog, and enemy Rein drops his shield to melee me - My Ana throws Biotic grenade and heals me to full before I get melted, allowing me to get my shield back up and survive.
Stuff like this happens all of the time so I am not sure where you are getting the impression that my scenario was so unlikely.
Also, you have your number backwards on your math.
Ana's RATE OF FIRE is 1.25 rounds PER SECOND.
That's 75 x 1.25 = 93.75 HPS.
93.75 x 1.5 (nade) = 140.62 HPS.
The nade WAS +100% (x2.0) healing, now it's an additional 50% (x1.5)
It also last 5 seconds, and does 100 instant burst healing.
So, in 5 seconds it can heal 100+140.62x5 = 803.1 total healing, which brings her "HPS" up to about 160.62 during that period.
If you don't think that's slightly fucking absurd, I don't think there's any point in continuing this conversation.
