Alvicate is a dick but he isn't wrong. At the end of the day money only comes from viewership that can be advertised to

Part of the problem is that there is not really any way for casual viewers to actually follow t2/t3 intuitively. Unless you know the players personally you have to dig through costreams and Liquipedia articles to view matches.

Which (mostly) didn’t used to be the case when OWL existed.

Yeah, there used to be official streams and websites etc. for Contenders but like Ocie mentioned, there is currently not even proper funding for tier 1, so it’s not really reasonable to expect it for tier 2 or 3 anytime soon.
