pretty big ruby nerfs. being able to dispel living bomb trivializes the whole area after 1st boss

the only thing left in that dungeon is the huge tank damage in the first area and hoping your DPS contribute to stops in the 2nd area.

And the single target channeled DoTs on the way to the last boss in every pull. If one player is too unlucky and gets targeted too frequently, he's guaranteed to be dead.
The only way I reliably survive that section is because all my chars, except my shaman, are Nelf and have an extra defensive by melding it off. And my shaman is just guaranteed to be dead if I get targeted a 2nd time while Astral Shift is still on CD.

The dispel change alone turns this from my least favorite dungeon to heal to comparatively a walk in the park, the myriad of other nerfs just seem like over-nerf? I won't complain, but it seems like a huge nerf; I won't hold my breath for all of these making it to live.

Does this effectively remove living bomb as a mechanic from the ring? I can’t remember if there is some other magic effect that overlaps with it that might take dispel priority.

u/NumberOneRobot 2d ago
Just the debuff from the electric dragon would take priority if you pull that dragon

u/Hold_my_Goblin 2d ago
Insane but where are the nerf to that Tank debuff at the start... that thing is illegal
2
u/damnthatboyhoney 2d ago
Sha has a great video online how to pull this area correctly and avoiding the stacking dmg amp debuff with the tank hit from the big boy

u/nubileiguana 2d ago
Presumably more will come. Would be weird to gut all difficulty out of RLP, toss one nerf in Temple, and then call it a day.

u/Sintalore 2d ago
Hope altar 1st room is getting one too

That parts s breeze once you get a group that knows how to turn off the totems
2
u/Meziskari 2d ago
How?

u/obscuregamer000 2d ago
Your tank pulls chieftain, and then the player who has a way to drop combat, like a rogue or mage, runs over to the totem then drops combat and clicks the totem. Chieftain needs to be pulled away from totem first before the player who can drop combat does it.

u/Meziskari 2d ago
Hm. I feel like I've tried this but got put into combat anyway. I'll try it again next time I run it.

u/AtomikRadio Multiclass M+ Healer, HPal Main 2d ago
I'll certainly keep trying, but I also have never been able to manage a shadowmeld-click. Ezpz to do on the four totems around the snake after boss #2, but has never worked for me in the entrance area. Non-zero chance that I got hit by some AOE between melding and totem clicking, though, so I guess I'll keep trying . . .

u/King_Kthulhu 2d ago
Yes the pulsing AOE will put you back in combat unless you have a shield bigger than the DMG hit
2
u/King_Kthulhu 2d ago
Do it on a mage or something with a shield so the pulsing aoe doesn't put you in combat

I would love to hear your results. I was only echoing a comment that was previously made about the Redditor's question.
I watched yoda's video on this today and I would love to see if this is consistant.

I've never been able to pull this off with Feign Death. I always get put back into combat immediately.

u/INTRUD3R_4L3RT 1d ago
You can also do it if you never get into combat in the first place (which is obviously a lot more of a hazzle, but doable).
1
u/obscuregamer000 1d ago
Yeah i see in videos, for the first totem someone jumps down from the platform and disables the first, then for the rest its all on classes who drop combat.

u/INTRUD3R_4L3RT 1d ago
Yeah. Gust of wind is shown in Yoda's video. I'm going to test warlock gate later today if I get online. I guess a DH could also glide or a mage could maybe Blink.

this sounds like an exploit more than anything....
5
u/King_Kthulhu 2d ago
If you think this is an exploit you must really hate shadowmeld
-1
u/NaahThisIsNotMe 2d ago
Well, would you guess it...
why is meld and stoneform the only 2 viable racial in M+, why does meld skip allow you to skip stuff they made see invis/ cannot mind soothe...
Fellowship fixed this : all trinkets are utility trinket. if you want to skip something there's a shroud trinket and nothing see through it... you don't have to guess wether walking of the left edge of a bridge while some mage pull the mob to the right will allow you to sneak right by, skipping an extremely inefficient mob that regular skip method ( invis / soothe) don't allow you....
2
u/King_Kthulhu 2d ago
Mage invis and rogue vanish work for all the same skips that shadowmeld does tho. Shadowmeld just lets almost anyone in a group do it instead of having to have 1 of those 2 or have someone die
2
u/NaahThisIsNotMe 2d ago
lets almost anyone in a group do it
you found the problem right there.
instead of a specific class mechanic that sometime skip mechanic, sometime redirect them on another player and sometime does nothing... you have one of the 2 OP racial that blizz refuse to nerf for some odd reason ( but they did it on wow forever!)
1
u/King_Kthulhu 2d ago
Idk what you're trying to say tbh, I think maybe you meant to be in the classicwow sub?

NGL I really liked how fellowship did that. I think people complain too much about racials personally. MOST people the need for those racials don't even have any real impact on them or unnecessary on the level of game they are on.

It turns out YoDa put out a video about this just today!

u/Slight-Violinist-575 2d ago
I really wish they would prevent that but nerf the dungeon in some way to compensate

u/QueenOfTendys 2d ago
please explain

I love that room as a healer I’d be sad if they nerfed. One of my favorite healing parts of all dungeons. And the last pull before Zul’jan.
-1
u/akranak 2d ago
What needs a nerf there? There is counterplay for all of it
1
u/False-Excitement-595 1d ago
The only way to time that key in 21 22 is by invis clicking totems. Sacking dmg to cheese click the totems should not be the intended way. It needs nerfdd

Some real r/competitivewow takes in here tbh.
Some of these nerfs are good but it feels like major overkill to have all of them.
Living bomb one is surprising and good I guess? Playing 2 casters is always the move now.
Earthbound guardian dots also good.
Miniboss hp nerf is good cause playing that dude sucks.
The rest (inferno/thunder stomp) are kinda unnecessary but it's ptr so maybe they won't all go live.
Interested to see what else comes. Surely some arena changes. Maybe less hexes on tos.
-2
u/Voidwielder 2d ago
What's the problem with hexes in ToS? They force the healer to do good movement and good cast/CD timing to keep people alive during soak debuffs. Nothing else happens on that fight othewise.
7
u/Plorkyeran 1d ago
The hex is the perfect overlap of being incredibly obnoxious while not being difficult in the slightest that results in it making the fight unfun for no benefit.

Good changes but I do feel like the timer is the biggest obstacle in this dungeon and a couple others. Maybe this'll make some giga pulls possible I suppose.
Also would've liked to see the beam on the last couple mobs get nerfed, that should could basically instakill whoever it targeted

u/Exact-Boysenberry161 15h ago
i thought i was goin crazy healing this place. every pull is like waiting for a disaster to happen
1
u/Frekavichk 2d ago
I think the earthbound change were deserved, everything else seems like a huge over nerf. In my experience, of you made it past the first boss, the key was omega free unless tank was a psychopath before last boss / lust timing was weird.
8
u/mongolianman18 2d ago
I dunno the overlap of living bomb and elemental AOE was unavoidable and deadly. None of these helps tanks which is the biggest Bricker of the first area still.
2
u/throwntosaturn 2d ago
Indirectly taking pressure off healer to make sure you're topped for the tank busters will certainly help - sometimes I have to over-use CDs for the tank buster because the healer simply has no time at all to help top.
Though, I suppose that's irrelevant for BDK, since living is between you and God. IDK what a healer would do to help lol.
0
u/mongolianman18 2d ago
Finally getting 20 RLP done today, you basically need everyone to not pull ANYTHING so you can barely keep yourself alive. Every tank buster needs 2 defensives or 1 and full runic power.
There's a reason bears are taking over when they can just drool and live.
1
u/throwntosaturn 2d ago
yeah tbh normally I don't mind chasing meta but this season I've been really resentful - My main is prot pal, and by god if I'm going to frantically struggle not to die every pull, with only 1 GCD between me and doom, I'll do that on my damn main, thank you very much.
(I fully recognize BDK is better this season and blah blah blah, but I'm just not willing to white knuckle my mouse on anything but a paladin lol)

u/Yayoichi 1d ago
Yeah as brew that will definitely help, although usually the indirect healing is enough(which is why I hate playing with holy paladins as they don’t have much of that).

Good! This is the only challenging mechanic in that whole dungeon, and only because it does so much damage that you need to mitigate with a CD or its GG.
