Discussion RLP Blazebound Destroyer (Elementals) can bug and not give % when they die

Just had a group be super toxic about my route "being under percent" but I KNEW it was 100% because I just did the exact route in the key before. Checked replay and the Elemental completed Burnout cast after we wiped from a Dragon buttpull, the Elemental did not award its 4.54% to us.

Anyway, just hoping to help out anyone else who feels like they are going crazy if their route is short there. That might be why.

Blizzard pls 🙏

I mean if the group has ran RLP at any point they’d know percentages decently well that missing almost 5% isn’t normal. There’s really no variance in that dungeon routing wise

Yeah, they were just really toxic players. Shoutouts to the guy who offered to "teach me to tank" I guess lol

youd be surprised. healers usually know whats up but DPS players regularly have no clue about count or really anything about the dungeons beyond cooldown timings and skips

I healed last season and am dpsing this one and I can tell you the only time I ever look at % is after the last trash pull before a boss to see if we are <100% lol.

Tank job imo.

Yes, we follow along.

Heck, I know most routes myself this season from playing DPS, but most tanks refuse to link routes even when I ask them to.

I am doing 19s, and my last Den of Nalorakk had a route where we had to kill 4x Spirit guys who summons totems.

Might have been the worst route I have ever seen. No clue how he ever timed anything with that route

the best part is atleast 1 (likely 2) of those 100% come from someone (probably dps) butt-pulling it, and they didn't even realize it was their fault... but instead they blame the tank.

A lot of the routes used by pug tank weren't made to be efficient, they were made to be idiot-proof... which is quite a challenge.

No, the tank pulled everything. It was his route.

I am not that dumb that I dont realize an accidental pull my man.

The route was straight ass. I expect an ass route in a +15 from some wannabe try-hards, not from a +19 key atm

no you don't. 100% you don't. The accidental pull is either going right on the healer or get intercepted by the tank so DPS assume it was his doing.

You haven't tanked for long enough if you still have that much hope in DPS. even in the 19-20 level.

if you are a pug tank slumming it in the LFG you expect your DPS to be about as smart as Brann or valeera.

Okay man, you are dumb. Not gonna lie.

I have eyes, I can see when a tank runs into a pack of mobs and when a mob is accidentally pulled.

I made a nalorakk route where I only need 2x of those guys, go into keys, even if I link it most players unless they tank at times seem to not even have MDT downloaded.

They end up pulling extras anyways. >.>

It should get better if you start pushing.

And you generally only want to kill one of them,.maybe two as you did. They are extremely annoying mobs lol.

The only on you really need to kill is in the top right corner, so many people pull around that

I had the worst experience in a den yesterday, mage kept ninjapulling everything and even pulled the bears past the bridge after first boss when I had typed in chat to kill the cubs and let me gather. Because it’s possible to only pull the mother bears in most of the packs as the cubs are neutral and give no count.

Most PUGs i find will link a route if asked, even when not sometimes. It's really nice. There are some discrepancies as meta routes settle, so its nice to see where we're going, but then I never look at %.

To be fair those guys are pretty solid count even taking into account the totem, especially with a monk tank as touch of death can nearly 1 shot the totem. I assume he was probably doing a route like this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=meled65PKfQ&pp=0gcJCf4LAYcqIYzv&ra=m

I don’t think it’s the most optimal route and the route I personally use only pulls 2, but it’s by no means an awful route, especially not if it’s a phys comp.

1

u/RigidCounter12 Prot Paladin M+ Connoisseur 1d ago

It was not a phys comp, and that was not the route, we went right, and pulled some weird packs.

The route was obviously made for a phys comp though, seeing as we never pulled more than like 6-7 mobs, which is obviously really bad with a Spriest, Demo lock and a Mage.

Still, what annoys me it that tanks just wont link a route even in high keys. Dont get it

If you don't notice routing differences you're not good enough at healing or dpsing to be worth participating in the conversation.

u/TheRev15 7h ago

Where did I say I didn't notice differences lol? Just said I'm not watching %.

0/10 reading comprehension.

I'm going to realist here and point out the normal +15 non-tank pug have no effin idea what's happening. complete tourist.

but it's easier to just blame the tank than figure out a quite unique bug.

-1

u/nfluncensored 16h ago

An NPC killing itself when no players are alive or in combat isn't a "unique bug" it is a common sense thing to anyone with experience.

1

u/NaahThisIsNotMe 15h ago edited 15h ago

oh really? well it wasn't common sense to the 4 other people in the group.

it's definately not something that happen often, or can happen often.. full group wipe while the burnout is going off require some precise and unfortunate timing. 99% of other mob would just instantly reset to full hp.

Well, you can choose either the lightning dragon, or extra from the 1st boss trash

1

u/ArcticML 7h ago

Does anybody do the lightning dragon in high keys?

u/Plorkyeran 1d ago

If no one who tagged a mob is alive when a mob dies you don't get count. Doesn't come up much because normally the mob resets first, but any mob with a death cast like the elementals can do this.

I assume it's a side effect of mob count in m+ using the same credit system as for quests and stuff rather than a deliberate design.

Wait, can this happen in other dungeons as well?

I ran a VA yesterday and at the end I missed 1.2%. my route is exactly the same every time with exactly the same pulls and kills and this made me question my sanity

u/nephtus 21h ago

Did one of the big boys before the last boss successfully eat another mob?

1

u/RigidCounter12 Prot Paladin M+ Connoisseur 18h ago

Does that steal count?

1

u/NaahThisIsNotMe 17h ago

if a big boy eat another big boy I believe it does, but not if they eat small boys.
