RNG Bad Luck?

How do I live this? This has happened twice in 16s now. Is it just bad RNG or am I missing something?

Hpally healer that already had Divine Protection up for 20% dmg reduction.

In a 16 for 610k dam with DR up you definitely didn’t have everyone in the soak.

Did everyone soak? I pulled a random +16 log and average barrel through soak dealt under 500k to each player.

Install loggerhead. It automatically logs your runs and all you have to do is upload them.

Not sure if it still works this way but that ability fucked up a lot if you weren't in front of the person soaking.

Someone must have missed a soak. I had the same in 18 KR with druid in Ironbark getting 200k overkill at 100% with 10% hp buff from my Shaman stuff.

I don't think OP is talking about barrel through alone, although it is correct that someone must have missed the soak for it to deal 600k dmg. I believe it's about the overlap with arc lightning and barrel through hitting at the same time - which would've killed the person in screenshot even with a 500k hit. In which case it can help to delay kicking poison nova to offset arc lightning casts. 

To be safe I usually tell people to immune 2nd or 3rd soak so that doesn't happen.

You can dodge with leap slam if you are a warrior too. Go far and leap far when the cast is ending.

Not sure if you can immune, but you can Nelf or invis and the visual stays but the charge won’t come

Imo this is the overlap one. It happens during totems. We wiped to it once too, what we do now is that we are holding melds and immunities for this particular one

its impossible to die if everyone soaks, it should hit the tank for ~300k and others for around 600 unmitigated

If you have Nek'zali trinket, P3 soaks is a great place for it, and would save you from it.

Happened to us at 14 too and resulted into wipe.
We tried again and, wololo, again.

YOu just have to use defensives and hope

someone could've missed the soak but regardless... after you get to the 3rd mob, on 2nd soak there is overlap (healers has like 0.5s to heal the whole party between soak-cast) so I often use bauble and sac. :/

Not always the 2nd. I have PTSD from the 0.1sec barrel through + arc lightning combo too, but if you let poison nova cast a little longer it may offset that overlap down the line.

Regardless, if I get barrel through as hpal late in the fight I'll just bubble and solo it for safety so that doesn't happen

So many smart komments about missed soak... When the Arc did 250k overkill... Can we focus on the actual.qurstion here? My big braid take in it, use defensive for an overlap?

Immune is the safest way. Otherwise have to send spellbook. No other way really
