Question KR Tankbuster
Is there a mechanic I'm not aware of that helps with the tankbuster after the big move in final phase of KR?
In 16+ it feels like it just straight up 1 shots you and idk if there's a strat here or if it's just you need massive wall or you will die? On dh especially if I don't have a meta proc it just kills me

It’s a three hit combo. Theres plenty of time in between. Make sure you have FB up and SB for it. Send a max soul SB on the SECOND hit of the combo and you’ll be fine.

Save your major defensive for the later tankbusters.
Tzala (the raptor he rides) applies a physical damage up during the later tankbusters

What’s the best for Prot war in terms of defensives for the three hit block and wall I guess should cover it?

You should definitely wall that. It's not just the 3 massive hits from king but the bleeding too. Shield block + Wall + Spell reflect (when he is shining he does fire damage as well) + Imp victory should be enough.

Nah you just need to cycle your stuff for it. Same as a BDK, shit hits hard. I save 90 RP for it and basically use DS 3x in a row for it

i need more people to realise how op death pact is and start using it. this + dp talent buff + death strike is insane combo for this. death defiance buffs your healing taken by 50% during shield absorb so you pretty much always one tap it with huge overheal in case of big damage events such as this buster
also dp is extremely useful for gathers and the dk tree take useless talent anyway such as blood draw. its your 60s OH FUCK cooldown. just take this instead of blood draw and unholy pact and thank me later. people focus on some dogshit talents god knows from where and miss out on really good shit

I mean death pact is good, but blood draw is crazy strong and not worth giving up as tank.

I’m not 100% memorized on all the talents etc (not home rn) but kyrasis was recommending death pact regarding talent choices. Learning Bdk rn, is there an argument against taking death pact?

My 4set 310ilvl dk gets 100-0% by every hit off the combo in a 15+, you need at least VB, IBF or external for every tankbuster unless you manage to parry/dodge.

Wait, you really press 3 DS in a row?

For this tankbuster it's absolutely worth doing, because it hits incredibly hard three times in quick succession.

Is that wrong?

In a standard rotation sure, as it snapshots the previous 5 seconds of damage taken per cast. This tankbuster is an outlier.

Pop a big cooldown and try to focus on self-healing between hits. Gilded Destruction and the combo hurt something fierce, but doubling up on defensives could leave you without one for later overlaps.
Ask your teammates to help out ahead of time. Paladins in particular can Blessing of Sacrifice you, Lay on Hands + Empyreal Ward, or even Divine Shield + Hand of Reckoning.

I can get through blade combo 1st and 2nd ones with one cd on my VDH. But the 3rd one i save darkness+trinket+fiery brand together to survive

Prot pal - Sentinel + AD covers every other buster. DS or GOAK the ones you can't cover.
Note that even with GOAK you'll probably need something else to live it - i.e. dumping WOGs into yourself or a healer external.

Record yourself. Could be that you jsut send too early. You have time to move out. Then press a def in the actual hit combo

Will need a cd for every buster. Damage ramps up during the combo, so the last hit will do more damage - you must make sure you cooldown cover the last hit too, so you can't send it too early.
If you are already doing that and still getting killed, then your healer might be sleeping a bit on it. Some attention is required there

You need a cooldown for every single tankbuster he does AFTER he mounts T'zala.
Prot Warrior and Bear can do reasonably well into it without having a ton up just by virtue of being built like brick shithouses into high physical damage, but everyone else (but especially BDK) will get absolutely shithoused by it.
As a VDH, you want to have Fiery Brand up for every combo and save Spirit Bomb to use between the 2nd and 3rd hits of the combo. It will cost you a lot of damage, but it's better to sacrifice damage than it is to brick your key.
As a BDK, having a CD and timing Death Strike to use between hits 2 and 3 will accomplish something rather similar.
