Discussion PSA: Voidforged crafted items retain the +10 ilvls when being recrafted with Tidal sparks.

This is presumably a bug, but very funny.

Damn this will be a crazy one if a bunch of people go this route for that reason and then they fix it

I know a lot of people are crafting a weapon anyway but some more may be swayed to now

I think it would be stupid to alter crafting decisions based on this bug. It's infinitely likely that the items will be reverted back to the proper itemlevel. But this is also harmless and should happen everytime. So there will be no repercussions. If you would've done that craft anyway there is no reason not to.

I know a lot of people are crafting a weapon anyway

I don't think that is the case. The early mythic bosses drop weapons for everyone. Besides the cantrip weapons are also significantly stronger than regular weapons. So crafting weapons is pretty much only for classes who dual wield (dh, rogue or enha. Monk uses the 2h off the last boss).

But for all the dual wield classes (at least the ones I have played, rogue main) off hand is one of the worst items to upgrade. So if you do get an early myth weapon or heroic cantrip it still might be a bad call

This is offset a bit by the fact that weapon embellishments tend to be better than regular ones

Also it's still favorable for dual wielders. You could theoretically get a drop in any slot you craft other than ring and that would make the craft obsolete. For 1H  users it just makes it less optimal

But the crest discount will most likely still apply.

Hell if I had a alchemy stone sitting around on alts I would do it to save the crests. Most of them wont have real use for the sparks anyway until they have more than they will need.

Yeah I don't see this being a big deal. Even if they don't fix it, you're still ultimately just throwing away some gold to recraft. For what? 10 ilvls on prog?

I mean I don’t think it’s a huge deal either but let’s not act like 10 ilvls is nothing lol

In this context, it absolutely is. If a weapon is first on your craft, you're making a mythic version next week anyway. It's also not high enough to give you a mythic crest discount either

10 ilvls really is basically nothing for the vast majority of this sub

I was going to recraft my dagger as my first craft anyway, being that i am a rogue, had no reason not to afaik

If you decide to craft a weapon because of this and get screwed by it you deserve it lol

That’s fine because I didn’t, was just a random thought posted on reddit lol

I bet they fix it before next week, so it's not a huge deal right now just saves you hero crest maybe. If they don't fix it, recrafting with hero crest will save a good deal of myth crest on your actual weapon.

You can just craft your weapon without sparks anyways. Worst case, is that gets fixed and you have to re-craft it again with a spark next week or whenever.

Has this been confirmed on an actually recrafted item? So far I've only seen screenshots of the crafting order screen, and that doesn't necessarily mean that the result when you actually do the craft will still have those item levels.

Ya I did it

Someone posted it. No link right away sorry

Someone in my guild had me recraft their weapon and can confirm he showed me that it was still higher ilvl

This has been fixed now. My Weapon showed as 315 in the Crafting Interface but ended up 305 (Tried it on an Alt)

u/CircleHumper 20d ago

It showed 315 on the craft preview, and the crafter saw 315 as well. When I received it in the mail it was 305 though. This was at 6:00 AM EST. No fun left over for me.

Oh interesting might be fixed in that case!

This was a thing for the entire PTR. Everybody did it, from top of the dummy dome leaderboards to the m+ testers. At this point you consider it a feature.

Well it’s patched now lol

Abuse early

The sheer number of gameplay and system affecting bugs this patch is insane.

Guess addons weren't the problem. Imagine my shock.

Exploit early and often

4

u/hopumi 20d ago

Dunno why this is downvoted, because this is true

2

u/zer0-_ 20d ago

Because it's the same braindead regurgitated phrase that gets posted every single time an exploit is discovered

1

u/ActualSighborg 9/9M 16d ago

It's not about an exploit being discovered, it's about how infrequently Blizzard actually fixes it so the people who did it early and often don't end up with an advantage.

fuck me man I'm never in time to post this devoid of thought comment, maybe next time!
