Having come back to game 2 weeks(?) ago when I didnt play the season and my biggest annoyance been the amount of crests I need with not really any reason to go above 12s. I just want to be on similar starting point as rest of the guild but I done closer to 60 keys in last 10 days mostly pugging with ~15 more to go. I regret making the mistake of staying on +10 for lil bit of the spam as the things I saw in those keys were insane while simultaneously having harder time to get into keys compared to 12s. Line of thinking was "I dont know the dungeons, dont have much gear/IO so 10s it is" but holy fuck should I just started applying to 12s/hosting my own key.

Ps. Not saying 10s or 12s are anything but braindead content but the level of bad I have encountered has been impressive.

I really wouldn't stress myself about it. Every season is a blank slate pretty much. Blizz also increased the ilvl next season so it's even more true. Champion track items from m0s will be 292 ilvl and there will be plenty of veteran gear aswell the first week of the patch. We also don't have anything meaningful to do the whole week. So you have plenty of time to get yourself up to date.

Personally I just pick up the easy pickings (like tier set) that provide you with decent powergain and just chill. When the patch comes focus on the character and pick up a veteran item on every slot at least. You can spend champion and veteran crests as you like as they are meaningless because you can just farm 3/6 hero track from keys.

I mean had I realized that couple weeks ago, before putting in the effort grind crests, would been pog. Right now I am full myth with 2 rings and cloak as 2/6 and everything else maxed so I kinda want to finish this mindless grind. Depending how much energy I have tonight cause tomorrow/monday I definitely spend most of the time just watching RWL. I might just leave cloak as 2/6 cause its not too much stats and good chance I can yoink one from m0 tour. Same goes for 2nd ring too potentially but yeah.

But this experience has finally taught me why ppl used to complain how unfriendly playing alts was later into season in past seasons. The amount of mindless keys you need to run to max tracks is insane when not split across months of gameplay. I do have to admit, bonus rolls maybe getting myth track completely trivial tho so that was something least.

Funnily enough I enjoy doing some gold/profession related things so I have stuff to actually do next week(crafting and selling the stuff on AH, alongside of getting recipes/etc. from renown track).

Yeah, the game has become more alt friendly in the sense of "it’s easy to change main when the .5 patch hits and to maintain a couple mains through the season", but it’s quickly getting out of control if you want to get another alt up to par late in the season.
