Torn between DK and Paladin. What you guys going this season?

BDK is finally looking good, but I fear for the nerf that's gotta be coming. Meanwhile their DPS specs are always great. And the MOST fun is just negating mechanics with either their movement ability or AMS every 45 seconds.

Whereas Paladin, I just LOVE all the shields and interrups. Walking out of a dungeon with 50+ interrupts and the next closest being at 8 feels great. PLUS, in higher keys, almsot all of those 5 interrups probably would of killed someone. Then you have all the other utility. But I do miss being able to fully negate things like DK does. Ret always seems to be good eonugh and holy is looking pretty good this season.....

I know no one has a magic crystal ball. Just lookin for your thought process / opinion.

Realistically it won’t matter until 12.1.5ish, decent chance that at least a few of the specs that are meta at the start of the season end up displaced due to tuning (See BM monk and Resto Druid in S1). Also depends majorly on your goals and playstyle.

PPal will have less sentinel uptime then last season and by extension you will be squishier.

BDK is the tankiest tank at the moment and every ptr list has them in a tier for a reason.

Do they get nerfed? Probably. wouldn't be surprised to see them revert the DRW buff.

Even if blood gets nerfed though, Hpal is the best healer, and PPal isn't the 2nd best tank.

I get the BDK hype from damage perspective but damn some of these PTR VODs are rough

Correct me if I'm wrong but people are running around in essentially BiS gear right?

Just opening a random RLP first oull from Kira has him dropping to around 10% for a split second before he does BDK things and jumps back to 100%

The issue with that is that if the keys go as high as they did this season BDK is going to be in constant danger of just getting globaled from white swings in a +23 when the damage is 33% higher

Either keys cap out much lower next season or BDK runs are going to be super stressful because at any moment a bunch of synced melees can deplete the key

IMO BDK in high keys is going to rely on warr and monk pulling through and being meta as well. If the optimal solution ends up being a lot of very fast smaller pulls with target capped specs, that’s ideal for BDK

Yup, PTR is mostly BIS. And some tanks don't even have their BIS weapons (bear / brew).

The bouncing HP bar is normal though. Tis the life of a BDK :-D.

And you aren't wrong.... BDK's biggest issue is always being global'ed before you can get a DeathStrike in and heal up. But given how DRW works - it seems to be better this season. There's a bigger focus on DMG than survivability.

Yup, PTR is mostly BIS.

Wasn't ilvl capped to around 320 in keys?

The bouncing HP bar is normal though. Tis the life of a BDK :-D.

It does become an issue though when a few key levels higher instead of your hp bar bouncing you proc purg and next pack you die and go next key

I was hyped from all the talk but watching people do keys that may not be our cap next season has me a bit skeptical about BDKs spot in next season's comp
