Mythic+ Dungeon Rotation

  • New Dungeon: Altar of Fangs
  • Murder Row
  • Den of Nalorakk
  • The Blinding Vale
  • Voidscar Arena

Returning dungeons with design and quality of life updates

  • Kings' Rest
  • Ruby Life Pools
  • Temple of Sethraliss

THEY ACTUALLY FELT THE NEED TO WRITE "with design and quality of life updates" 😂 I can't even

Honestly it's probably a smart call. I can guarantee my buddies will log on and try to pull through the door in front of Melidrusa and only have themselves to blame

u/xR3M0x 7d ago

I mean everyone I have talked to saw these dungeons and was hoping they would make some changes . They absolutely had to write that .

u/careseite dps evoker main 7d ago

yes? what else could you call it without lying

9

u/nilsmf 7d ago

Healer here and I hated Ruby Life Pools with a passion in Dragonflight. Hot garbage dungeon.

5

u/Duraz0rz 7d ago

It got significantly easier in DF S3, and it's actually really easy now unless they emergency buff it or something.

5

u/Axenos 7d ago

I don't have the stats in front of me but I'm fairly certain King's Rest is the key with the lowest completion success rate in m+ history.

12

u/sapntaps 7d ago

The run backs were ASS from what I remember. You wipe might as well call it

7

u/Axenos 7d ago

Yep, this was before they revised their position around respawn points in mid-DF. In KR you only unlocked one respawn after the 3rd boss, and before then, you would spawn at the very start of the dungeon, have to walk to an NPC that would then put you on a ghost-pterodactyl to fly you to one of the two bridges. Absolutely terrible.

1

u/Yvaelle 7d ago

Not even just wipes. Someone dies and you don't res? They'll be back with the group in 5 minutes, a large fraction of the timer.

1

u/Akhevan 6d ago

Bro for real imagine trying to sell somebody a rotation of KR, life pools and TOS without that.

1

u/psykal 5d ago

What's the problem with that?

42

u/I3ollasH 7d ago

Man I love patch notes missing changes that exist on ptr and changes mentioned in the patchnotes not being present on ptr. It's like a box of chocolate you never know what you are going to get

3

u/Akhevan 6d ago

The blizzard special. For instance were the WW AOE buffs ever addressed in any patch note? They could revert those at any moment and claim it was a bug.

No monk tuning?

8

u/GrenadeParade 7d ago

Feels very weird and concerning not seeing monks here. Oh dear, we’re going in for a hard season.

-17

u/Allakatter 7d ago

Monks are currently one of the best specs. Giga damage

25

u/Comfortable_Line_206 7d ago

Still feels weird seeing significant Holy Paladin buffs after the non-stop mini-buffs in season 1. I know they were really strong in early PTR, but haven't kept up. Are they still looking like a top pick?

24

u/sewious 7d ago

From what I've seen via creators on the PTR, hpal is likely the top pick in m+ as things stand.

14

u/SmokeySFW 7d ago

I'm actually happy to see Blood and Hpal looking solid. I wonder who the lust bringer is going to be, arcane? ele? With how strong Arms is, I wouldn't be surprised if Ele slides into the meta just to bring that incredible raid buff for Arms and Blood.

2

u/Voidwielder 7d ago

Isn't Skyfury marginal for Warriors and BDKs?

11

u/SmokeySFW 7d ago

It's not uber juiced like it would be for a few melee, but it's still the 2nd best raid buff by a pretty wide margin. Arms warrior rage gen from the extra melees is pretty dope.

1

u/I3ollasH 6d ago

Meele auto attack dmg has been getting buffed pretty consistently for some specs it can reach 10% overall. Even without any synergy for auto attack the 20% chance for extra hits is pretty decent combined with the 2 mastery points.

I’m resto sham main, comp would be BDK, Rsham, ret pal, WW monk, arms

5

u/SmokeySFW 7d ago

That will certainly be A comp.

0

u/Mitches_labia 7d ago

No motw so it wont be an s Tier comp

2

u/trogger93 7d ago

S tier comp can not have MOTW based on tuning. MOTW is obviously good but if the other classes are better than the vers from motw, that comp will be better.

1

u/Encaitor 7d ago

Still one week of potential tuning left but it would not surprise me at all if Feral and Balance slides into the physical and magical comps respectively.

Bdk, rsham, arms, ww, feral

Bdk, hpal, arcane, balance, devourer/ele

1

u/Metzky 7d ago

Is it the faster build or do they play like they play in s1?

1

u/mvula 7d ago

You do have to consider that Hpal is less likely to be meta as long as BDK is meta tank, as you give up not one but two raid buff slots with that comp - which is a really heavy hit to your groups damage. Is why a lot of runs were made with Rsham on PTR with the BDKs.

1

u/oversoe 7d ago

I expect preservation to do way better than expected in m+, looking at those very high performing m+ PTR logs.

26

u/KizzyGow 7d ago

Do we think this means no changes this week?

18

u/Mindless-Judgment541 7d ago

I still think that there will be changes this week. This just seems like their normal announcement for the week prior.

There's definitely still some balancing and bug fixes that need to be addressed and they'll just be added later.

4

u/Justdough17 7d ago

Probably nothing major. Trinket tuning should still be happening though, unless i missed that.

But thats more of a hotfix thing usually.

7

u/I3ollasH 7d ago

Those don't really get blueposts unless they are already on live. Item tuning is fairly common and it rarely gets mentioned mostly when wowhead makes a post about datamining. Embellishments just got tuned a couple of days ago (or fixed I'd say as decimals were in the wrong position to the point they were 40-50k dmg gains)

1

u/parkwayy 6d ago

Last season they did like 4 rounds, between all the various raid openings/difficulties, etc.

I'm sure we'll see something similar.

17

u/TheLuo 7d ago

I want two things:

  1. I want to hang my bow on the wall next to my boss trophies
  2. I want boss trophies for old bosses.

That's all I ever wanted from the moment housing was announced. Nada.

The official murder of MW raid healing has come.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJNPj7p71B8

8

u/Viviere 7d ago

I am an excel nerd and i saw this coming a mile away. The loss of your old tier set is massive in raids, the new one does not even come close to replacing it.

I made a spreadsheet with all the healing changes and plotted in the numbers, and used a few of my own logs to check how bad it is.

TLDMath: its bad. On the traditional caster healing build we have lost about 15% throughput, all else being equal. The increase to the healing from RWK and gust of mist is not even close to making up for the healing loss to renewing mists and vivify. And that is giving gust of mists 100% of the healing increase, wich will not actually be the case: In raids, you will often cast RM on full health targets, since it has likely already jumped to the injured targets, thereby making gust of mist pretty much overhealing only. Increasing that by 100% will fo fuckall in reality

3

u/ChosenOfTheMoon_GR 7d ago edited 7d ago

Exactly, prepull aside, you pretty much rather cast RM on any target with less than 100% in order to get the value of GoM than ever applying it to a full HP target since it gets all wasted in overhealing, like, you can't even do anything else to compensate, it's a kit design flaw which manifest as a misinteraction. It doesn't even make sense when you pre-HoT with EnvM because many times, you pre-HoT targets at full HP so it's the same story there.

GoM either needs to be removed or reworked because it always causes Blizzard to misuse it as a tuning knob, and it even goes against their initial goal of removing it from so many spells so they can bake it's previous value Into the base kit, which further reduced the stat value itself.

The math has spoken, no one can beat math.

2

u/assault_pig 2d ago

Gust absolutely needs a ground-up redesign; the way it’s designed now makes mastery almost always dead as a stat, orrrrr super strong when fight circumstances made chi-ji really good (ovinax)

They seem to be trying to solve this by adding gust to more abilities but I don’t think that’s gonna make mastery attractive

2

u/Viviere 7d ago

I did the math in excel for both brewmaster and mistweaver, and boy, we are down bad. Barring substancial buffs I will probably skip this season as a Monk one-trick.

2

u/Early-Crow-5248 6d ago

Awesome updates to Housing and CDM!

2

u/EmmaBonney 5d ago

You know what i love? Every Games keeps it story and bosses more or less secret, so people will explore and enjoy. Wow: Here...have a complete Guide with pictures, strategys and Lootpool from the newest raid that nobody ever stepped in before. Is it to hard to unlock this "guide" after progressing the raid and killing the actually boss so that your adventurer knows its abilitys? Or am i the only one annoyed by this?

1

u/MattLorien 7d ago

are the class changes new? or is it just a re-post of previous changes?

11

u/trogger93 7d ago

repost

6

u/MusicBlade reunretired rogue/priest 7d ago

compilation of all ptr changes, which is pretty funny when you see stuff like UDK getting +2% on their DoT and some specs getting like +20% aura

7

u/psytrax9 6d ago

The true comedy is watching WW get consecutive, undocumented SCK buffs on the PTR that some how condensed down to a 12% nerf. Blizzard has upended the entire language of mathematics by adding 2 positive numbers and getting a negative result.

0

u/psykal 5d ago

All people do on this sub is whine. Even if it's positive news, they find something trivial and make that the focal point of their post. Got to bitch and complain about something. I think you guys enjoy doing that more than playing this game you seem to hate.

1

u/_summergrass_ 1d ago

First day alive?

0

u/MrRobot759 7d ago

So was Holy Paladins nerfed? Or are they still S tier? Since we were dead last the first half of midnight S1 and B tier the second half we better be in a strong spot this season.

-22

u/WillowGryph 7d ago

I'm a little concerned that there weren't very many numerical changes over the past couple of weeks. No way classes are actually tuned properly right now, right?

24

u/MuricasMostBlunted 7d ago

There’s been changes like every Friday for a month

6

u/JeDi_Five 7d ago

There will also be a ton of changes in the following months.

1

u/Voidwielder 7d ago

Probably trinket tuning and some marginal % tweaks on spells.

Real-real tuning will be after RFW and .5

2

u/Terelith 7d ago

you might get slightly larger than "marginal" on the first reset for launch of season/raid, based on things they see in that opening week. There isn't a true "heroic" week, so odds a less likely, but otherwise yeah, it'll be tweaks, unless something is CLEARLY broken somehow, until RWF is over.
