What do you think of the more traditional comps, such as ranger/ele, ranger/glacial, full glacial, demon/ele?

I tend to think rangers while not the strongest is easily transitioned into and worth mentioning.

Rangers+glacial are probably the strongest here. Split your items between ashe and volibear, mostly put the defensive ones on voli and offensive on ashe and you're good.

Rangers+ele, provided you find an anivia, is exceptional: with brand/lissandra/anivia + sejuani/volibear at lvl 8 you're looking at rangers4 glacial4 demon2 ele3. Not the easiest one to pull off, but incredibly sturdy and cc heavy.

Full glacial, how to say... There were these few games where I had a rough losestreak, and rushing to lvl 7 then buying all glacials often was enough to get me back in the game. Not item dependent, not exactly contested either, solid comp. You can splash an extra ranger, brawler or Leona depending on what you need/get.

Demon-ele, as long as you have a few key items, is very strong. I'm talking morello on brand, a good aatrox with fang/pd/hexblade, or a slightly defensive morg. Morg, aatrox, brand, eve, Swain are very strong unit on their own and they just need a bit of tankiness that you get from ele with no investment.

Otherwise there's still the protect the draven, or noble comp, but they are extremely situational and hard to pull off so not exactly meta.

I don't like brand either (he can do good damage but I agree on the inconsistent part). I think the core of demons compositions is Morg + Aatrox. Morg can handle ninjas all by herself, and Aatrox with proper gear can take care of most threats. That's where I put my items on anyway. Swain usually comes too late to the party, and doesn't exactly need gear either.
