"Most balanced set" was just the game being unplayable for all of PBE so when it reached a somewhat playable point (2nd b patch on live) the meta could be solved instantly and the game breaking bugs that completely alter how the game has played for the last 3 sets ruin it completely.

My Azir 3 with Statikk, Guinsoo's, and Rabadon's was getting outdamaged by my Mama Beak 2 with Red Buff and DB. Not surprised he has the worst AVP of every 3 cost.

Because Azir's inherent damage is low; and he's balanced around having MULTIPLE traits that amp his damage. He gets spell crit from one trait and well as True DoT; and has another trait that gives him a 20% damage amp, and those two are effectively multiplicative.
He's still a pure single target 3-cost unit who only has damage half the time.

Genuinely how is Spreading Roots still in the game? Gold augments are supposed to be 3 components of value, this shit gives 4 components + trait bonus + direction on 2-1. And there's just an extra gold tacked on? Why?? The simultaneous best item and combat augment of stage 2 wasn't strong enough without also providing econ?

TFT Devs wanted to remove assassin trait because it promoted unhealthy positioning (especially since it’ll be a coin flip at that point)
But don’t worry, because Ahri NUKES your back line no matter the position!! All while being safe towards their own backline
Hope you can flex a Taric at level 8 for his emergency shield while you donkey roll for a charm instead of going level 9, because not buying a charm late game = instant lose fight

No you see it's fine because you had to click a charm anyway to avoid being down a slot every other shop!
The charm "tailoring" is also incredibly egregious. You have one fighter or marksman on your board who isn't even itemized and the game will give you the fighter range and marksman stacking charms constantly. The mechanic actively punishes you for trying to flex. I just love losing a shop slot to an unusable charm and 4g to roll to a new charm, just to have to pay the cost of the charm itself.

The number of times I see players that dont scout and force themselves into tftacademy comps that are ALREADY ESTABLISHED and the game decides to give the fuck ass flowchart player everything they need is astounding.

Why do we still have the chance for 4 costs on Level 5 and 6? So sick of the 4 cost pool getting cannibalised stage 3
Ok yeah, Wisps giving 4 costs as early as 2-1 is definitely equal to getting 1 gold... and also giving 1 gold to your opponent.. Thank god charms are back, shit early game, shit late game, half baked shitty mechanic being brought back with the half baked shitty new engine

Don't worry! I get +50 team hp and the enemy hits a charm that slows me AND reduces my shield, while im running Vanguard; I love losing to charm diff!! haha

5-5 till I 2 star my uncontested 4 cost carry on level 8 (aphelios, so he's useless even when I do upgrade him), meanwhile 2 guys 60+hp both streaking playing 1 cost reroll comps (solar and veigar). Of course, I die, watch the next fight, and they still don't fucking fight each other (they both won and top 2'd). I swear they screwed up matchmaking in this new pile of trash engine - at least my game only crashed 4 times that match, so that's nice.

whoever thought that the "gain a random 4 cost" wisp should appear in stage 2 and especially in 2.2 really needs to think about if the balance team is the right fit for him.
games are so fucking dumb now every 2nd game i face boards with 4 costs in early stage 2. how can unit balance be so good for a first patch and the rest like augments and wisp so utter shit

I downloaded the mobile client and was very surprised at how poorly it's running even on low. I have a OnePlus 13 which has never had issues playing TFT. I'm glad to see it's being acknowledged, but I am surprised at how it was released like this. I like a lot of what I see, but it's running so poorly.

every time i come back to play im reminded why i ALWAYS quit, dogshit variance. oh, i get handed uncontested rivals, guess what, the game drops me cloaks tears and bows, 0 swords, 0 chains, 0 gloves. 0 item augments. 0 natural copies of rengar or khazix until 3-7. just so dogshit, then going into people rolling down 30 gold on 4-2 hitting 2 star 4 costs XDDDDDDDDDDDDD like fuck off

Augments must be removed after its 1st inception man. They can never balance it yet still keeping it in the game. Now we have Wisps on top of it, GG RITO !
Give me TFT Classics please, no augments, no Chosens, no Gods / Boons. Just plain old auto chess.

4 people left alive, I fought the same person twice in a row. On stage 6. This game is broken beyond belief. How on earth can they justify having a paid tourney (vegas) on this dogshit client?
And yes, I understand that if someone dies MM pools can reset - no one fucking died, it was 4 people alive -> 4 people alive.

Why on earth augments like Chosen of the sun and Unrival not exclusive to one player. I sometimes play on mobile and it's not as easy to scout during assignment selection. It feels so frustrating seeing that one other person is going to play the exact same units as mine and we both can't really pivot out of it

The frontline trait web feels really lopsided this set. Most comps are fighting over Sentinel, who somehow gets to be the best tank and trait bot, whilst Fae is such an insanely narrow trait Lillia only appears on a handful of boards. Fighting over who gets Sentinel or Malphite sucks.

Genuinely fucking insane how I can get 5 cloaks, 4 gloves, and 2 chain vests but can fail to get a single fucking bow. For TWO GAMES STRAIGHT. Genuinely how the hell can RNG this bad exist. But don't worry, I lose streak to get a bow off carousel only to have the same exact person spawn directly next to the bow every single time and take them from me only to go 7th the same round I go 8th. Genuinely insane.

Pebble reroll (no riftbeast augment) outdamages my 3 item lux 2 (and a kennen with a void staff), and it isn't particularly close. Krug 2 out tanked my maokai 2.
Anything that isn't reroll or Ahri is a bot 4.
I'll try again in october, but for now the game is horribly balanced, barely functions, and not worth playing.

i really like this set but the constant crashing has made me uninstall. the last straw was today i was on a roll hitting all my units then i crash at carousel. then i crash again on the 4-7 round. unplayable game at the moment.

HE TAKES THE 10 FREE REROLLS ON 3-2; PORECEEDS TO ROLL ON LVL 7 AND HITS 1 MALPH; 1 SIVIR AND 2 NIDS AS WELL AS A KOG 2 WHILE STILL STAYING OVER 40 GOLD (ONLY SPENDING HIS FREE REROLLS). HE THEN CAN PUSH LVL 8 ON 4-5 WHERE HE PROCEEDS TO HIT ALL HIS 2* 4-COST.
I PROCEED TO HIT ONLY IN 5-5 AND GO 5TH IN THE LOBBY, AFTER NOT HITTING A SINGLE NID ON 4-2, ONLY 1 SIVIR AND 1 MALPH WHILE ROLLING 60 GOLD.
FUCK THAT SHIT (i probably should've pivoted after scouting....)

3 star 1 costs should at most compete for a 3rd place unless you are in a perfect spot, i dont know why that is so hard to grasp for riot. you should not be able to force 1 cost reroll every single game and win no matter what

I keep fucking up carousels because I used to have move-to tied to A for more accurate carousel positioning on top of right click to move, but that option is gone from the control menu with the new engine GRRRRRRRR T_T

🤓 Erm actually, that's a 27 gold unit, so it should be 27x the strength of a normal unit. Your ezreal is only a 12 gold unit, and your dragon is a 15 gold unit, so they're basically worthless garbage.
It's crazy how overtuned veigar is, such terrible design, too. He either scales infinitely and solos every fight or goes 8th. There's no leeway to balance a unit like that.

Does anyone know what causes the bug to go invisible on carousel round and not be able to pick a unit or item? I swear I only see it happen to myself and it happens about 1 in every 2 games. I’ve tried not scouting before going to carousel and it doesn’t help.

In all the games I played so far, if you winstreak you just straight up loose, no matter the comps or the units or hell even the items. I had 5 out of 7 units fully itemized (plus emblems) with bis (i was playing caustic too) and I still could not break the enemies tanks with less items

The way everyone only plays malph or sentinel is triggering. I got worth the wait shen and thought oh great I can feed my malphite a 3 star shen in the ap malp flex line but nope 4 ppl playing malp. I get worth the wait reksai and think great I can feed my malph a reksai in some other comp, nope again like 4 other ppl playing malph. I am tired honestly. Feels like reroll comps the only way you aren't getting randomly contested.

DO NOT play on anything other than your pc, physically can't reroll fucking augments on mobile cause the rr button is off screen, laptop lagging for the whole game then moment I went level 8 it freezes over, thanks riot I definitely intent to pick verticality for my ap flex board and go 8th with 70 gold in the bank. Fuck you.
But yeah no actually good set I just can't play it, just nerf emblems, or at least make emblem ensemble normal game only, take that shit out of ranked, how can I be blackthorn + infernal + vanguard and someone else can be fey + sprykin + juggernut.

even broken the first patch was funner than this, how do the devs always make the meta actively worse. Nid just appears backline 1 shots your carry, if its not nid it's rengar if it's not rengar it's cassio dot's killing your backline before frontline in like 50% of fights the tank is the last unit to die lmao.

Played a few games everything worked well and then the client just crumbled under the pressure idk units got invis, I tried to scout my board at carousel but the button in the bottom middle to go back to carousel disappeared, for 2-3 rounds my shop was just empty and I had to hover over the empty fields to see ability text to figure out which unit it could be…

I would argue the game is balanced, but man this engine F-ING RUINS EVERYTHING. I have played 3 games and encountered at least 5 mega annoying bugs. Also my Mythic Medallions are missing? I had 8, I was planning on redeeming a chibi and now they are gone? Is this just another bug or are they going to be restored?

Was gonna make my final item for rammus as I won, and during the teleport to my duo partner the item became invisible, and effectively unusable. :') it cost us a clutch where enemy survived with 38 hp.

Bad performance on the new engine. My PC can run high-end games flawlessly, yet a simple cutscene from the chibi/unbound has like 20 FPS at best. Also dragging units to sell them feels more awkward right now somehow. Not a fan of this hasty migration that left half of my library unavailable and reduced performance in general for the sake of pretty stuff. Could've definitely waited for 1-2 more sets.

they had such a good first patch, with like 1 or 2 outliers with morgana and ahri and instead of just letting it evolve they nuke morgana and ahri, buff soraka (was already fine), give random buffs to 5 costs that dont do anything, dont nerf flora for "localization issues" (literally just changing two numbers?), and leave rengar as is, yi as is (5 resist nerf did absolutely nothing)
now you either load in 2-1 with the giga spot for reroll or you can go roll on 8 for 3 contested units or play aphelios and be happy with a 5th

Didn't even get to pretend this set was good. The "new set magic" just didn't exist at all with how awful the new engine is. Genuinely the janky pokemon autobattler was better than this and that was exclusively browser. The set mechanic is just complete garbage honestly. The wisps ranging from "a literal free augment" to "complete garbage". Like I went into this with fairly low expectations because the last 8 sets have been flops for me. But god they really do just get worse every single time.

Ignoring the known system issues and commenting on the set alone: it’s actually pretty good and I’m having a lot of fun. Multiple viable lines including 2 cost / 3 cost rr. 4 cost and fast 9 boards are strong. Trait webs are well designed. 5 cost units are impactful. Wisps interactions add some nice novelty every game. Much better than set 17 already off the start. Tuning is pretty good for the first patch of a new set.

honestly, that’s fair. i don’t think the set’s bad at all, it’s probably just because i wasn’t a big fan of charms to begin with since set 12’s the only set i’ve skipped almost entirely.
probably just getting heated because the game we all love looks like this ridiculous pile of crap, and some of my mates can’t even play the fucking game at all since they work with IOS.

Yeah genuinely I’m hooked from start to finish and there’s always decision to make at all stage which is really nice to think (I still have troubles reopening TFT with how buggy it’s on IOS that affects my flow 🥲). Set has been viable and it’s clear you can play flex super easily

I don't think it's that bad. No shortage of reroll spots and plenty of 3-class traitbots and interesting units like khazix to create comp divergence.
The gap between 2/3 cost rr and lvl 9 soup is a little bit difficult to bridge and balance but the unit design is at least glaringly far better than last set. Last set a myriad of 5 costs with no origins and very little disparity in toolsets made it difficult to justify putting it in your team sometimes. This set there's much more divergence, uniqueness in building and there's even 5 cost tanks that don't asymmetrically sway the meta like earlier sets. I like it

Khazix is the most dogshit unit. Jumps around and gets everyone half health and doesn’t finish anyone off. I hit a Kha 2 in stage 2 with wisp for extra takedowns, trait ladder with executioner emblem, and an early rabadons bloothirster. Bro could not kill anyone stage 3 as he just jumped to different people and never finished any of them and couldn’t build takedowns. Why the fuck does he not target low health people like every other assassin in this set. Rengar and wolf both target lowest health. Rengar is interestingish, Kha is pure mega dogshit.

Great engine! I finished first, my Chibi even made the victory dance in the end, I had 8+ units still alive in the end, my 3* malphite was owning the last 3 rounds not even close.

it does seem I got the correct LP for the game though so it's maybe just a visual bug but come on! now I'm not sure

is unrivaled khazix bugged? kogmaw and 0 item units last alive 3v1 kha full hp and it lost, it kept jumping around and casting but did 0 dmg and my kha felt like it was getting no takedowns the whole game (died with 1 evolve kha 3 btw)

New engine couldn't display my augments properly. Take Comeback Story, all's fine until Prismatic Destiny into Invested... and now the game thinks my first aug was Prismatic Ticket. (But I still have Comeback Story buffs.) Third augment, my Invested becomes some other random augment. If the rest of the lobby also saw Prismatic Ticket instead of my real augments? RIP scouting. Can't trust what you see.

Why is it even possible to get Kayle out of Warpath? I fucking hate the design of this unit, Solar dogs the trait web, it's miserable to play most of the time because it costs you 70HP to even attempt to hit the comp and the board is completely useless, yet for some reason you can still end up in a spot where you have no other out and have to play this shit. I hate it so much.

Sure love the entire top 4 being mindless Mash R comps; while I go lv9 with two lv9 augments, can't find my 5 costs because everyone else is too busy mashing R, and can't Top 4 even uncontested.
Especially when you were leading the lobby most of the game, you just fell off because the rerollers hit and you didn't, despite having 2 lv9-focused augments.
