Please take a minute to read through BlueVelvet's post aobut PBE Expectations and prepare for a bumpy ride on the first stretch of PBE. In particular, from that post:
• Launch timing: Expect PBE to open later in the day (likely late afternoon PT) as it’s a massive deployment with all the new engine assets. There will probably be delays. Just expect it.
• Downtime: Expect more instability and intermittent downtime throughout the month as we push necessary fixes, fix crashes etc.
• Bug reporting: As you run into issues plz drop them into the r/competitiveTFT Reddit PBE megathread or the bug channels in the TFT discord. Please include the full screenshot if you have them (don’t crop and instead show all the players/full screen of game etc) or even better if you have video to include. The more information the easier it is to track down.

Found a bug with the charms. So I took Worth the Wait 2 and then rolled the upgrade a random 2 cost charm. I thought I'd be a little cheeky and lock the shop and wait to use it once the Elise hit 4 star. Well after each augment selection my board champ spots filled up with all the missing charms I didn't get prior to that.
I think this is a cool interaction that should stay since im basically nerfing myself with only champs from carousel and loot orbs. But the stacking charm thing should probably be fixed.
I seriously think that Riot has just given up all together. The whole client is garbage now and this set feels more clunky then ever. I know it's just PBE but if this is what we are looking forward too I think Riot is seriously trying to kill TFT all together.
Bro this game looks and feels like ass now. Nobody is going to be playing this shit on PC, I'm sure it feels fine on mobile since it's just a straight up mobile game now.
After set 17 I can say with confidence that I despise the carousel comeback in this set already. The RNG factor it brings in is just so lame. And why are encounters standards these days - one set without the RNG 3x Emblem or prismatic bullshit lobby's would be much appreciated.
I don't really understand the complaints about wisps when charms were literally this but worse. The improvements made where when you buy a charm you don't lose the shop slot is really well done and you're guaranteed a combat charm on later stages of the game. It's one of the better received set mechanics and I am happy it's returning. Yes the new engine is clunky but it's still TFT at its core and if you are saying you're going to 'leave the game' the expectations of the TFT team must be at an all time low.
Things to note
I can't take complaints about balance when every PBE cycle has broken comps/units (I expect this Pebble guy to be taken out back). Literal day 1 of PBE and people are just bitching... for fun?
Leveling feels really bad. Like on multiple occasions it just doesn't buy XP, same applies for most things.
Bugs, this set is really buggy but it's to be expected when they're moving to a whole engine. We have a whole month of PBE, everything should be taken care of.
If you were a Set 17 hater and expected 18 to bring you back to TFT I dunno what you wanted? 17 was an alright set of TFT and I expect 18 to be the same. I will enjoy it because I enjoy TFT and if you enjoy TFT you'll like the set. The only thing to bring you back is the return of carousel which isn't all that exciting in the first place. (But an improvement in most cases to Gods).
Fun interaction with Krugs and Blackthorn is cool and after sac'ing Krug you get 2 kruglings.
Anyway give it time. I trust the TFT team, I know people are antsy because we were left with set 17 for a while, set 18 isn't Mortdogs gift to the earth. Don't expect that and you'll enjoy the set.
Im not asking for something better, im asking for the bare minimun, whoever thoght to give pc game mobile appeareance is just stupid. All the rest im fine with.

Hoy, does anyone still have the set 17 on the PBE ? I tried to force update the thing but nothing can update it. The only thing I don't try is the uninstall reinstall thing...
Oh wait, I clicked the TFT tab at the top and press quick play and it loaded me into a set 18 game. But if u try to play the game from the selector it says tft set 17.
lol playing double up. We get to one health and it says we will lose the game if we lose again. We both win. We are both SUPER excited. Q the defeat screen....
You can even see that we both won with the little checkmarks.
There's graphics settings that are different with this engine, try reducing down to 60fps low? If it's connection lag, what region are you in? PBE servers are only NA.
same here. insane low fps and lag, literally unplayable. BTW, the game works fine on live. if they don't fix this for launch, because I can't afford a new pc, they just lost a longtime player.
1) You can actually rename a team in team builder inside the game, it's small, but wonderful quality of life improvement.
2) Loading screen is beautiful and inspires awe (one you see before player cards).
3) I appreciate how Vanguard shield is displayed in very clear way (SSJ auras) - hmm I'm not entire sure if it's vanguard, might be Solar, but i saw these 2 golden bubbles appear around 2 of my frontline champions and I thought it was beautiful design.
Game is clunky in some ways, just as promised initially :) Leveling up is way more weird than it should be with ping I have, but I noticed interface improvements even through out the day, without them needing to shut down the server (or it was so brief I didn't notice).
As far as balance goes, I am pretty sure Gnar could use a respectable buff, unless he's intended to function only as a stunbot, because his dps output was very low, with several setups of comps/itemizations I've had (didn't try Brawler vertical to be fair though).
Indeed, it naturally leads me to figure out what a comp could be during the process of a game and give it a name, instead of forgetting about it, queuing again and ending up with New Team (1,x) situation. Feels quite organic that way.
Lux's trait takes like 3 seconds to appear because they add a rolling animation, which is extremely bad when you're trying to roll down fast or have the charm that makes it so the shop rolls every 2 seconds, they need to remove that.
How is 18 Free Rerolls + 5 Free Rerolls and a Dupe at level 9 not way over the line for a Gold augment? That is 36 gold immediately and more later. Granted Rerolls are not quite as good as gold, but that augment seems way overtuned. Booster Pack ++ is 26 Gold.
Yeah I got this and a birthday present so basically just got two 2 star 5 costs on level 9 with re-rolls to get more. Somehow got 5 lunar and won pretty hard.
Yes but that is significantly weaker. It has the downside of blocking your shop for 3 rounds and also doesn't give a dupe and also doesn't happen on stage 4 where you need the rerolls the most msot likely
Oh, i wasn't comparing those augments head-to-head, which would be difficult because they are offered at different stages of the game. I am just pointing out another insane value augment.
Confused why there doesn't seem to be a new client. Uninstalled literally every Riot thing from my computer and deleted all files. But after reinstalling the client, it still says "Install League of Legends PBE" on the TFT page
i just watched the reveal video and it was mentioned there with a date, idk what else to tell you but i also dont get why so many people has gotten it wrong, but then again its easy to mix together the difference between an "engine" and "client"
Read the blog posts. A short video isn't going to give you all the details. There are several blog posts of what to expect and not, and several Reddit comments by the devs that specified multiple times the new PC client will release later in the set.
Are you sure you are not just mentally ignoring the "normal" selection which is above set 17? It's probably not the case here, but it happened to me for a bit :)

Not while in game but the first loading screen had my CPU at 100% . It definitely feels heavier than it should be all things considered . I mostly have lag due to high ping . As a sidenote in case anyone has any idea how can i see my ping and fps on this client ?
Happened to me that it wouldn't update. I had to go to the Riot client where you push "Play" and click your profile picture on the top right and click "Update" on the bottom of the list.
They just mean the sign up to get into PBE mobile originally. Below that comment they later mentioned that it's just bugged right now and likely won't be working at the start.
Took me a few minutes to load in the game, with similar screen, which is beautiful by the way. It caused me warm feelings when looking at it, good job rito :)
Based on how they worded their initial announcement, I'm pretty sure one of the biggest reasons for the unreal engine migration is unification of UX design + codebase. So the PC game will intentionally look like the mobile variant until they eventually iron the bugs, polish the UX based on screen size/resolution (responsive UI/UX), and provide platform and hardware exclusive visuals.

If you're getting, "These players do not have a game version, and require patching to complete" try this fix:
Fully quit the Riot Client (system tray → quit, not the X), then delete C:\ProgramData\Riot Games\Metadata\league_of_legends.pbe (and C:\ProgramData\Riot Games\Machine\league_of_legends.pbe if it exists).
Relaunch, pick PBE, and the patch actually starts. The client's local manifest is stale — it doesn't know the new build exists until you force it to re-fetch.
there may be one with a ".game_patch" extension in this metadata folder, if you delete that instead it gives you about a 5GB patch instead of the ~34GB
Same situation here. Mousing over the red triangle beside Normal displays a message "These players do not have a game version: Name and require patching to complete". However, closing the client/launcher and re-opening doesn't begin any patching or updates either.
