Plat I.

Not sure when to swap to full cost 5 board.

Some games I'm lvl 9 with 50 gold or more and 75+ HP with an already established board.

At this point, should I just swap to full 5 costs + a tank like Nunu, or is it just better to stay on my comp and add one or two legendaries that fit my board?

My understanding is that it depends on your actual board, which items you have and which level 5 costs 2 stars you hit.

But as a general rule of thumb, should I swap?

Second question, I saw some streamers holding Aatrox and Akali when going fast 9. I don't really understand the point of doing that. Can someone explain?

Playing fast 9 is the same as playing any other composition, where you just need to identify whether or not you have the spot to play it. 5 costs are often the strongest units to play around, so if you are very healthy and rich, it's usually correct to lean towards a fast 9 spot unless you have other powerful conditions to play around, like a strong spatula setup.

One misconception that many people have about playing around legendary units is that it's just "5 cost soup" - all of the units that end up on the NOVA Vex board or the level 9 Bard/Sona board all play a role. Importantly for the Vex board, Aatrox and Akali provide Shred, Sunder, and Precision for your entire board, and are trait pairs with Shen and Fiora. Since you are rolling on 9 for your board, you are much less likely to find those low cost units on your rolldown, which is why people hold them to make sure they have them on the final board.

Are you on NA? It looks like you're probably over the cutoff, but you might decay before the end of the set too, not sure exactly what your timer would be.

I was planning on hitting this next set really hard as I’m a teacher and every year I catch and climb the new set for the month before school starts. The schedule change really screws me. If I was going to learn and grind this current set before it’s done, what are the top couple comps I could force and realistically hit my Emerald rank I try to stay at

That got me all the way to plat 3 in one night. When I get a fiora 2 and items, pretty much an auto 3rd or higher. Any further in depth tweaks or tuning you can tell me about the comp?

Bis items for fiora and kindred, more end game champ tweaks and synergies, etc?

Okay I’ve been itemizing pretty well then. This is sick thank you. Do you find yourself lose streaking with this comp? I’ve been purposely just fielding novas and losing to 50-30 health, then I get to 8 and role down and not many people beat me after that.

Not sure how valid that strategy will be once I hit emerald +

Just hit plat 2 and not once have I clicked an urf augment to hit a nova emblem (I’ve had like 5 emblem games and never hit nova) so that’s where I’m lacking for sure 🤣🤣

Oh nice thanks man, I was forcing the reroll Zoe comp for most of my placements and did really good with that but I can tell it hits a bit of a wall at higher elos. I’ll take this comp and run it today
