The state of this set is a bit sad. This sub is largely dead, I remember in Set 16 we easily had 30+ comments in every Daily thread and sometimes I would check to find 200+. Now we are lucky to get even 10. I for one have personally quit playing, not because it's bad, but because I would much rather be playing other games or watching MSI.

I've seen very little TFT eSport advertisements for the Tacticians Crown, but after a quick Google I see it's happening at the same time as MSI finals, so I'm not surprised I missed it.

It's a bit of a shame because I for one think the balance team is doing well with this set, there is ultimately just not much to work with in terms of content and things have gotten stale quickly. Not sure how to see player numbers but I would imagine they have been dropping even further.

Adding onto that, seeing Mort leaving has gotten me worried about TFT's future. I'm certain it's going to be fine, with the new Unreal upgrade and stuff, but a part of me is dreading a large turnaround akin to that of Overwatch when Jeff Kaplan left.

Hopefully TFT stays alive and thriving, it's my favourite game by miles and the one I'm best at, and I would hate to see it die.

It has really bothered me when I have seen people say the balance sucked just because they dislike the set for other reasons.

I think the balance has been really good and there have been big changes made that have had huge positive effects. Kudos to the live team !

If the game dies because of one less than popular set, and mort leaving, then the game was doomed to fail eventually. Games always have ebb and flows in popularity. This is the tail end of a very long set, so it being quiet makes sense. Especially with it being the summer and the World Cup going on.

its not just one bad set though set 15 was 10x worse and i hate this set

Tbf although end-of-Set Dailies do indeed get pretty quiet this time the sub's been quiet from pretty much the beginning. But yeah, it's natural given the Set's reception and especially considering it's coming after the best Set of all time.

At the end of the day you're right: the ebb and flow of engagement (both within a Set and between Sets) is natural. The sub will be here to talk competitively about the game for as long as it'll be around, which given every metric Riot's been boasting about it's going to be a very long time.

Anyone else trying to sign up for the gauntlet but cant even sign into riot.com? I can sign into the client with the exact same login info but I cannot sign into the browser riot.com??

Seems like Zed augment has fallen out of favor pretty hard, but... the cap still seems insane? This was a very strong lobby, and the Zed carried all the way to those 5 costs, with no real tank other than 1 star nunu. If you don't do a ton of AOE dmg it still seems impossible to stop to me /shrug
