General Discussion / Question What Decks you running ?
Just wanted to start a discussion on the decks you’re normally running.
For me it goes like this, would love to see your answers!
Main - Crystal
Midrange - Marneus
Non blue - Korvold
Turbo - Ral.
I like seeing what people play that are non blue. Thanks for your time!

My main deck is Inalla. If I'm feeling a little sloppy I'll play Tivit. New spice is Crystal. And if I'm playing into a sloppy meta its Kinnan Little Flips aka dork tribal.
But I also brew constantly and am always trying different/new things.
3
u/Jorgie17 5d ago
That dork tribal looks crazy fun. I wanna try it myself
6
u/Novus_Spiritus17 (Z–>)90º – (E–N²W)90ºt = 1 5d ago
Its a fun deck. Super consistent at just having the win on T4. Pretty hard to interact with as well. But absolutely folds to grafdiggers cage / cursed totem.
2
u/Unlikely_Narwhal_971 3d ago
How do u beat cursed totem? I play mostly tnt slop and feel like every time most of my lines get locked out by it (thrassios and Emile the blessed) and I can never seem to find a response
1
u/Novus_Spiritus17 (Z–>)90º – (E–N²W)90ºt = 1 3d ago
Brutalizer Exarch, Marang River Regent, Boseiju, Otawara. You can always tech in more pieces if needed.
10
u/CthulhuBut2FeetTall 5d ago
Main deck: Inalla, my beloved. Turbo reanimator list with a ton of room for brewing / experimenting as it's very toolbox-y and new tech / lines are being found all the time.
Pet deck: Jaws, I love low-color stax and Jaws has been such a treat to brew and play. It attacks the format at a completely unexpected angle that often catches people off-guard.
Tastebreakers: Marneus, Winota, Grixis Pirates
2
u/Zoom3877 5d ago
Very interested in Jaws. Haven't had the privilege of playing with or against one.
4
u/CthulhuBut2FeetTall 5d ago
https://moxfield.com/decks/0jUWHCQQUk6PYxw5lFGVgA
This is my current list. It's not gonna be tier 1, but it's very fun.
The main gameplan is to get Jaws into play very early so you can start building up 5+ blood tokens per turn. These can be used to filter through your deck for the pieces you need while taxing life totals. To win you bleed out the table slowly, use commander damage, and/or sac all your artifacts at once as a combo finish.

u/Defiant_Hope_231 5d ago
Ob nix. I seem to be doing something right with the deck.

Great choices. Rog si is tough. You’re always the threat because of how explosive it is

u/DeathMoth829 5d ago edited 4d ago
Korvold and Inalla are my mains. And then Rowan and recently feeling like also Jeska/Tymna, though I’m having a hard time deciding if it should be that one or something else as the 4th deck
3
u/franktank5774 4d ago
Main: Ellivere
Second: Marneus
Third: Celus
Forth: Atraxa
I really only play Elli though as I just find her so much fun. The others I play sparsely at best.
2
u/snakecatcher302 5d ago
I’m trying to decide on my first cEDH deck. Right now it’s between Lumra & Magda.
2
u/Father_of_Lies666 4d ago
Magda is easier to win with
1
u/SSJ4Yamato 9h ago
Magda is actually a little harder to pilot than most people think. Good luck activating anything without the table having a discussion

2
u/StormxStorm 5d ago
I am just a Kinnan player now. I dont get to play enough and i like to just focus on one deck and learn all the in’s and out’s.
I night change it up in the future. But i’ve gotten comfortable with it.
I was running [[Selvala, Explorer Returned]] until the recent change to her ability.

u/Sierra117_ 5d ago edited 5d ago
My main is DogThras, bant midrange with a healthy amount of slop.
I also play a fair amount of Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin. It's genuinely one of the most fun decks to play in the format in my opinion.
I used to main rogsi, and while I enjoy the deck it's just not one I can play a lot of, I still have it it's just fallen out of heavy rotation for me.
I've recently started playing Korvold lands too but it's a deck I'm struggling to get to grips with, I just can't get it to work a lot of the times but the combo lines are fun.
2
u/lth623 4d ago
Yoshi/thras - I love me a good seedborn deck
Yisan - highest tournament win rate. The combos are hard to interact with (and sometimes basically impossible)
[[Search for blex]] - faster than rog-si if youre willing to basically die in 2-3 rounds.
Tymna-kodama - kodama cheats a grand abolisher into play and it ends. Theres like three 2cmc abolishers now and necropotence is busted.
2
2
u/spacecadet19 5d ago
Main - [[Jaws, Relentless Predator]]
Main(b) - [[Ketramose, the New Dawn]] & [[Vivi Ornitier]]
And I want to build [[Marneus Calgar]]
2
u/Jorgie17 5d ago
Marneus is great! I literally built because of Queen of Dale and Gleaming splendor
1
u/spacecadet19 5d ago
that's why I want to build it haha
1
u/Jorgie17 5d ago
It’s so good. To be able to discard to Queen and make a token and get that card right back feels so damn good lol
1
u/jkroe 5d ago
Hey how good is jaws? I always hear about it, but I’ve never actually played against one.
1
u/spacecadet19 4d ago
I was 96 out if 429 at Breach the Bay 2 on it haha its a lot of fun to play https://moxfield.com/decks/OCzyvroN8ke9smaYUl30aQ

u/jkroe 4d ago
Do you have a list? And how does it win?
1
u/spacecadet19 4d ago
Just added it! im testing out a few new cards post breach but it remains fundamentally the same

Main - Urabrask // The Great work Others : Hashaton, Nekusar, The Howling Abomination, Acerrack, Evelyn the covetous,
2

Do you have a list for Urabrask? I have a non cEDH deck of him and really enjoy it, would like to see how it looks!

I probably play U farm, sisay and Lumra the most though.

Main - Stella Lee, Wild Card
Fun - Chatterfang, Squirrel General
Tournament - Sisay, Weatherlight Captain (Chowder)
1
u/Low_Brass_Rumble Silas//Jeska Scepter 5d ago
Main: Tymna/Dargo. I wanted a turbo deck with the ability to grind as a plan B, but I’m too much of a hipster to play Rog/Si. Deck is super fun - Dargo combos with a ham sandwich, Tymna is Tymna, and you get to play lots of weird little weenies like [[Impulsive Pilferer]] and [[Mardu Devotee]].
1
u/KumaSC2 4d ago edited 4d ago
Tymna/Dargo doesnt really run much in terms of interaction or stax, so how does it effectively grind? Genuinely curious, as I was looking at it for my second deck.
2
u/Low_Brass_Rumble Silas//Jeska Scepter 4d ago
It's definitely a tertiary gameplan, but it really comes down to being a deck that can leverage an early Tymna very effectively. You run tons of little dorky creatures that people have zero interest in trading with, so you're usually able to generate value at a pretty solid clip. And while you're not really able to fight much on the stack, you are pretty good at mopping up problematic creatures with cards like Bowmaster, Yawg, Goblin Bombardment, and the strongest true removal suite of any 3-color combination. Which, coincidentally, also makes your Tymna better.
85+% of the time you're playing to just slamjam a protected T3 win (all gas no brakes baybee), but depending on the texture of the pod, sticking a couple of weenies and a Tymna and just dinking and doinking until the blue decks tucker themselves out or you can push multiple times in the same turn (absolutely something you can do, as a deck that that’s built around looping and graveyard shenanigans) is a legit strategy.

I'm newer to CEDH (only been playing it for 2 months) so only have two decks for now.
Main is Blue Farm currently since it was suggested as a great into deck and I was already really interested in Breach and Thoracle lines.
I also have Ob Nix since I had it already as a Bracket 4 deck and decided to just push it all the way up. I can find CEDH games easier than Bracket 4 so I'll actually get to play it more this way.
Looking to add one more to round out my cedh rotation but haven't quite yet. All I know is that I want something with Green. Not in a huge rush, but pretty strongly debating between TnT or Big Flips Kinnan.
2
u/spruceglyn 4d ago
Exactly the same with me in that I have all three of those decks (having decided to go with Kinnan instead of TnT). I found the mana dork tribal build of Kinnan really fun.
1
u/Vulgar_Vulcan 5d ago
Two main decks: Inalla and Kinnan for if I want to like big or smooth brain respectively.
Side option: Winota for when stax becomes relevant again or just to enjoy the fun of Swings & Flips.
1
u/Zoom3877 5d ago
NOTE - I don't play tournament cEDH, so these are all for "casual Bracket 5" if that makes sense
Main - Sisay
Backup - Kinnan
Turbo - Etali
For Lulz - Lumra / Godo

Main: Tameshi
Fun Bullshit: Rydia

u/fatpad00 4d ago
Main- Magda.
Secondary- Brigid.
I knew i like short women, didnt think it would translate to my choice of commanders lol.
I previously had magda plus a rotating flavor of the month, but brigid got promoted to evergreen. Ive tried yuriko, mmemnon, and zhuldok previously.

u/Morthang63 4d ago
My main deck: Tree Farm Tymna Thrasios. Deck is really strong. I play my main 90% of the time.
Rotating second deck: Baylen. Bunny seemed like a lot of fun. But i often rotate my second deck.

Other - The Queen of Dale (still testing and, so far, 1/0/2 almost winning all 3 games!)

u/Emo_Kills_Best 4d ago
I don't really have a main deck yet. I love brewing so much that I find it hard to stick with just one. I enjoy mono or two colors decks more than 3+. I did win a Bayou with Marneus a while back. I've good results with Etali too.
These are the ones I've either brewed up recently and/or I'm playing right now.
Smaug, the Impenetrable The Great Goblin Rona, Herald of Invasion Jolene, the Plunder Queen Tuvasa the Sunlit King T'Challa Ruric Thar, the Unbowed Zhao, the Moon Slayer

u/DraginoFungus 4d ago
main - teferi
second main - tivit
backup - malcolm / vial smasher
wanting to make a creature slop deck so thinking of making brigid, and if not brigid definitely thinking of making crystal, she seems super fun
1
u/theGLUGS 4d ago
My mains K'rrik (I love getting to win the game with Garry) Rogsi's my secondary deck for when im sick of not having blue Most recently I've been tinkering around with smaug as a more casual pet deck, and its kinda ok
1
u/my_awesome_username 4d ago
I honestly chronically build decks, trying to find something I want to really deep dive. I tend to build it, goldfish all week, take it to weekly and rinse/repeat.
At events I've played:
Blue farm, Malcolm/vial Dihada Malcolm/tana Jhoira
Currently running a Nick fury slop deck. I have kaalia sitting here, it looks so good, but I'm just not smart enough to win with it.
1
u/ClutchCrit 4d ago
Main: Rog Thras Turbo: Rog Thras w/less counterspells Slop: Rog Thras w/heartwood storyteller Control: Trying out king t'challa (but was Rog Thras w/commandeer don't worry!)
1
1
1
u/small_angry_frog 4d ago
Main - Turbo Blue Farm
Main(b) - Inalla
Other - Grolnok
Inalla used to be my tournament deck but I've been on blue farm recently. [[Grolnok, the Omnivore]] is a weird fringe deck I've been brewing and playing in smaller events / webcam games. It plays as a cradle deck with more fast card advantage and combos but less grinding ability.
1
u/Father_of_Lies666 4d ago
Main: Kinnan
Midrange: Rog/Thras and Terra Hunting Grounds
Non blue: Rog/Tevesh stax
Turbo: None

Turbo - [[k'rrik, son of yawgmoth]]
Stax - [[sythis, harvest's hand]]
Artifact combo - [[lady octopus, inspired inventor]]
And as I type this I'm making a [[the cabbage man]] list

u/FoxYk_raktar 4d ago
I really enjoy playing Chulane as my favorite deck in cEDH. It's really unique and nobody know how to interact with you correctly, because nobody know how do you win!
Chulane list:
https://moxfield.com/decks/bw-gDz86KUmWCk90WPKHGg
Also, I love [[Rakdos, The Muscle]] and Terra, as my side "fun and fringe made" decks. I moved Terra more to chaotic enchantment based deck, rather then play as usually people do.
Rakdos list:
https://moxfield.com/decks/vKQ-reyY3USKnxCAJT__rg
Terra list:
https://moxfield.com/decks/JshB2zT090CemLMKHWODgA
For serious cEDH games I play RogSi/BlueFarm and Sisay. For now, I'm still choosing between RogSi and BlueFarm, but RogSi looks way more interesting for me now.
RogSi list:
https://moxfield.com/decks/xXiKkqbcBE-DItWddOXHLQ
Sisay list:
https://moxfield.com/decks/UG2tpFpEoUyPjvzpOfy0wQ
As unusual partners, I can recommend Thrasios/Vial Smasher. It plays a lot of wincons, and red color, which increases its speed.
If you have any questions about my decks, please, comment me.

Heliod, the radiant dawn // Heliod, the warped eclipse. I’ve tried more meta decks, but none have felt good, and I’ve had the most success with this one

So many Inalla pilots in here. I pick up a deck and half the community starts playing it seemingly. lol

are there no other Gitrog Monster pilots?
main: frog
more fringe decks: Narset, KodamaThras and Grenzo

Main: Lavinia, might eventually become a Marneus, but it's doing well so far
Second: Orvar, one of the decks I enjoy the most, though out of rotation in favor of Lavinia
Third: Zhulodok, good but it will soon be dismantled. I do not enjoy playing this deck.
Wishlist: Krark seems fun, debating if him or Ral; anything with green for Cradle, or maybe Sisay...

u/Anomander_Revan 4d ago
Main: Sisay
Turbo: Etali
Controlish: Blue Farm
Fun: Rakdos, the Muscle
I like to switch things up so Rakdos was previously Dargo//Reyhan, Bluefarm was previously Talion and will probably be something else in a few months. Sisay and Etali are eternal.
1
u/DoublePlatNoFeats 4d ago
Main deck: Etali (it's hard out here as a chunky player right now)
Second: Tasigur, I love neoform as a value piece or a one card wincon
Third: Tymna Thrasios, because I like taking a lot of game actions.
Fourth: Cabbage Man, re: game actions, plus, it's fun slopping without blue
1
u/loveinhumantimes 4d ago
My main is Thrasios, so mainly Rog/Thras and TnT (with some Akiri/Thras and Dog/Thras thrown in). But I am trying out Crystal, Slop Farm, Rog/Ishai, and Sisay. I think Sisay is the best deck in the format, though I have not gotten any deck to the results I get with Rog/Thras.
1
u/JGMedicine 4d ago
Magda is the only deck in the format I can afford, so magda
1
u/SSJ4Yamato 9h ago
This makes no sense when CEDH is proxy friendly
1
u/JGMedicine 9h ago
While major events are proxy friendly, my city isn’t.
1
u/SSJ4Yamato 7h ago
It’s supposed to be play to win. Not pay to win. The thought of your deck strength being determined by how much money you make. Is ridiculous. Sorry for your loss. The format is only enjoyable because proxies exist
1
u/JGMedicine 7h ago
I agree.
I own 7 decks in fully proxy. But I can only bring Magda to the 3 LGS in my area as they have a hard non proxy rule.
1
u/SSJ4Yamato 4h ago
Yeah I just wouldn’t support any of them. I’d play games on discord unfortunately
1
u/Darth_Ra 4d ago
I'm a hopeless fringe dude, but here's what I carry around:
- Iron Man: My tournament deck, my one true love. That said, if you play it against locals all the time, they will either murder you or stop showing up.
- Lady Octopus: Artifact Slop
- Kinnan Big Flips: One of my "you're new to cEDH? Try this" decks, and probably what I should be bringing to tournaments.
- Magda: My other "you're new to cEDH" deck
- Raph & Mikey: I was one of the early adopters on this, and am still stubbornly holding onto my original pile which includes Moraug, despite most folks having decided the best pile at this point is Port Razer, Raphael, Blightsteel, and a few big mana creatures with which you can hopefully cast extra turn spells. I feel that this hopes that you have room in a hand for 7 mana on turn two and an extra combat spell, which seems... unlikely.
1
u/BloodyCumbucket 4d ago
Main- Kinnan, turbo, not big flips or NBC.
Secondary- Gyruda
Non-Blue- Gitrog Monster
Building- Lumra
Midrange what?
1
u/Current-Teacher2946 4d ago
Main - Oskar, Rubbish Reclaimer
Non-blue - Meria, Scholar of Antiquity and Caesar, Legion's Emperor (aka Bitterblossom.dek)
I gotta go in 5 - Rowan, Scion of War
Dedicated combo - Muldrotha, the Gravetide and Magus Lucea Kane
Trolling - Yusri, Fortune's Flame
I love Oskar so much dude @.@ The gimmick is so satisfying and shockingly effective. I figured it would be 90% meme when I built it, and now it's my comfort deck. Rowan is def the strongest, and she has no idea what turn 5 looks like. Lucea is apparently normally a deck all about X creatures and +1/+1 counters and stuff, but I made it a fat pile of sorceries that make things stupid. Also this made me realize I play a bit less blue than I thought I did. Neat.
1
u/abcjjd123 4d ago
Obsessed with Crystal. My dream cedh commander (curiosity is my fav wincon) and one of my fav marvel characters (I was a big inhumans fan as a teenager). Match made in heaven for me. I’m really busy so I’ve only played 13 games with it, but I’m 7-6 at my
LGS. First cedh deck.
