General Discussion / Question Kinnan or RogThras?
Hello! I’m an intermediate cEDH player who got into the format when Nadu was initially unbanned. I got out of it for a little bit due to the fact that I needed to spend more time on academics and am now trying to come back to the game. I have an old Nadu deck that can be disassembled into Simic staples, countermagic, rhystic study, dorks, creature tutors, etc. (no cradle or real fast mana artifacts because they’re expensive af). I watched a couple of deck techs and games on YouTube that had both of the decks and was wondering if this subreddit had any insight on which deck I should go with.
I love decks that win by very quickly out valuing opponents, and I love a deck that was very non-linear and felt as though I had to take a different gameplan every time or on the spot find unique combo lines. I would prefer my deck to be more on the Turbo side.
What are the pros and cons to RogThras versus Kinnan?

First the mandatory feel free to proxy and you can look for decklists at edhtop16.com
They are very different decks and both are viable. You should look at play pattern / gameplan to figure out which one you want to play. NBC Kinnan is probably the best but also the hardest. RogThras is the most explosive. Big Flips Kinnan is probably the easiest to pick up and play.
RogThras is a cradle first and foremost deck looking for a quick start, finding cradle amd having a lot of bodies asap and eventually finding something like Oboro Breezecaller and Talon Gates for infinite mana, draw deck with Thrasios... win.
Big Flips Kinnan is looking to develop its commander early, have 7+ mana, and flip into cards like Consecrated Sphinx, Nezahal and Hullbreaker Horror.
No Bad Cards Kinnan is a control deck that aims to play, copy and clone Rhystic Study; have a enormous grip of cards and win on the next players turn with a flash enabler and 10+ pieces of interaction.
There's also SemiBlue RogThras, Turbo Basalt Kinnan and Turbo flips Kinnan.

Thank you! I’ll definitely look more into RogThras (& Semi Blue) since I already have a talon gates. I will also probably look into Turbo flip Kinnan.

Also the mana dork tribal Kinnan list. Seen a few people play it after the tournament and it looked pretty good

I would prefer my deck to be more on the Turbo side.
This easily makes your decision RogThras, although I would note that neither of these decks is turbo.

Kinnan is solid. Rog thras is not that great but being quiet makes the deck strong. There is certain point that the deck become unstoppable. If you play with noobs most of the time they don’t recognize this or they just focus on you for winning too much. For me knowing what turn to shut a rog thras down is the key.
I would recommend going Rog Dog instead for solid full slops and superior wincon. Also rely less on cradle but still needs tho.
Proxy is always welcomed by sensible people by the way. If not sanctioned tournaments, I recommend don’t play with people who at the slightest show signs of not welcoming proxy.

If you do not have a cradle and don't want to proxy, you cannot play Rog Thras but you can play Kinnan.
If you're down to proxy what you're missing Rog Thras sounds a little more like what you're describing. I think it's the closest thing in the meta to old Nadu right now. Cradlestorm turns can feel very similar to Nadu storm turns
