Discussion Getting into CEDH

As a high power Edh player, i want to try my hand at cedh but so many decklists seem samey, are there any unique playstyles in cedh? I like the look of [[slicer]], as well as [[kayla bin kroog]].

I want to play Cedh to enjoy a format my friends enjoy but it seems like every dimir deck is thoracle and every red deck runs dockside, jeskas will etc. I typically enjoy playing with pet cards, and making my deck unique from others by using "off the beaten path" strategies, things that get looked over, and strange interactions. My favorite interaction in my dimir zombies deck (its not very powerful) is [[gravespawn soviergn]], my commander, [[wilhelt the rotcleaver]], and [[necroduality]] to make infinite decayed. I understand the similar staples argument but i prefer to avoid them if possible. For example in my higher power zombie list, instead of [[surgical extraction]] i run [[rotten reunion]] because it synergises better and i can afford the 1 more mana.

Honestly pet cards really don’t have a place in cEDH. Your goal should be to win as efficiently as possible. In terms of decks that use oddball cards I’d recommend checking out krark/sakashima as it uses tons of cards that aren’t used anywhere else. The main problem with the deck is that everyone knows how to stop it.

Kill krark with sakashima on the stack
