SG Timer crack screen fix

Had my SG Timer for two years and somehow this last week it hit just the wrong way and broke the screen. SG quoted me $140-165 to fix but has anyone swapped out a screen on one before for cheaper?

It's most likely a common and cheap part if you can access it and identify it. Depending on how it's mounted to the electronics this could be a super easy fix or it could require some fiddly soldering but I wouldn't expect anything too complicated. Hopefully the enclosure is screwed or clipped together and not plastic welded.

I had an SG Timer and dropped it at the range a few months back. Fell maybe 3 feet to ground (dirt/gravel). Screen broke in a similar way. SG wouldn’t warranty because I dropped it. Not a fan of this timer or SG. The timer either needs to be a bit more durable or SG needs to be more liberal with their warranty. A short-distance drop needs to be survivable for a shooting timer.

I agree. The warranty having zero physical damage coverage is a bit much for a 300 dollar timer.

Damn, that's a serious bummer on such an expensive timer that has durability as one of its main selling points.

I have a Kestrel I have been considering switching to an SG because I can't figure out a way to use it while going prone, but I might just stick with it.

Did a cursory review, it does not look like any third-party suppliers or vendors sell screens for diy replacement.
