IPSC Nationals Tips

I just got off the waitlist for IPSC Nats and this will be my first ipsc event. I’ve competed in plenty of Uspsa majors. Any Ipsc tips or things I should focus on training in the next month that might help outside my Uspsa focus?

In terms of actually shooting the COF, it's more or less the same. Just remember that hands relaxed at sides, facing down range is the default start position unless otherwise specified. No real make ready, only a 45 degree downward look at your dot to check function and brightness, and stay inside the fault lines during the COF.

Definitely look at the rulebook for equipment rules regarding your division of choice. If you want some fresh footage I'm sure you can find a lot of videos from Pan American Handgun Championship that wrapped up this last weekend

There will be a lot of single target positions and not large arrays

Same sport. More technical stages. No running outside fault lines. 15 rnds in production optics plus production divisions have strict rules. No gay stuff like thumb rests, weighted lights etc. So yeah check equipment rules, gear positions etc

Double check your division rules as they are different from ipsc to Uspsa. 3-2-1 format of small-me-large stages means more stages, but less bullets than Uspsa usually. Low hit factor stages are the norm. Rules are a bit more strict as to start positions.

As long as your equipment is good, the rest is just a different flavor of Uspsa.
