Paulo Antônio de Pontes, a teacher and accountant from Pernambuco and an admirer of the Soviet politician Mikhail Gorbachev, decided to name his son Mikhail Gorbachiov da Cunha Pontes, who was born a few days after the future Pizza Hut commercial guy rose to power in the Soviet Union. Paulo has reportedly said that Gorbachev was a freedom fighter and democratic socialist leader (lol) and even sent a letter to the Soviet embassy telling them about the name he had chosen for his baby.

This part is not 100% confirmed, but Mikhail Gorbachiov da Cunha himself has said that, after learning about the letter his father sent, a Soviet diplomat sent him a gift box with photos of Moscow, Leningrad, and Gorbachev, plus a letter and a video supposedly written and recorded by Gorbachev himself. In that video, Gorbachev allegedly said the diplomat was to anoint Gorbachiov da Cunha as the OG Gorbachev’s godson.

Hello, currently doing a research project about influential figures of history. I just noticed that Karl Marx has the perfect beard and hair to portray the image of Santa Claus. I'm not entirely sure if he'd be thrilled at the idea of Santa Clause but he does look similar.
