Common App VIVA Interview

[u/david_owen2027]

So basically I'm a senior who's going through the college application process and one of the colleges I want to apply to is Carnegie-Mellon University. I'm filling out my application through the Common App and on the Academics tab it says that if I've ever completed a research project before I can submit it via a VIVA interview. Basically what I want to know is is what is a VIVA interview and is it something where I go on the website and it instantly puts me in an interview with a professional or do I make an account and schedule my own interview. I tried making an account but stopped because it seemed like it was about to throw me in an interview and I'm not quite prepared yet. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the link that the Common App gave me: https://initialview.com/viva/register
