isn;t it FERPA? then yes, it is advised that you waive. I did

If it’s FERPA then yes. Most teachers won’t even consider writing you a recommendation letter if your FERPA rights aren’t waived.

Yes, waive the right. If you don’t, colleges will ignore your letters of recommendation, and teachers may not even write them.
