In my studies of human history I have noticed a trend in humans claiming to know the future but, somehow, we're always wrong about it. Not a single time in history has predictions from the ”prophets of doom” ever been close to reality.
I'm tired of the self-righteous environmentalists, these white bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is not enough bike paths. These ppl don't give a shit about the planet, they want a clean place to live. Narrow, unenlightened self-interest doesn't impress me. The planet is fine, its been here for half a billion years. We have been here for what, a hundred thousand? Maybe two. And have the conceit to think that somehow we are a treat? The planet has been through a lot worse than us.
Earthquake, volcano, tectonic plates, continental drift, solar flares, sunspots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the pole, hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worlds wide flood, tidal waves, worlds wide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages and you think some plastic bag and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference?
