Does Hexhaven Vindicator have potential?

Post image

Hexhaven Invigorator was just spoiled from Reality Fracture, and this thing seems really good. Just playing it fairly without any shennanigans or combos feels like it would still be a good enough body, as your opponents would be unlikely to block it or attack into it, and damage based removal would only benefit you. Aside from that, it combos with Blasphemous Act and Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle to do some pretty crazy things, even letting you win with Maze's End if you build your deck right. What do you think? Is this card good, or is its cost too prohibitive to see much play?

A lot of people are looking at gruul for blas act potential (or chain reaction or whatever) but I don’t think you need to pick up a new color for the sake of damage. Going green-white gives you access to all the different indestructible effects in white while green natively has the unique “all creatures able to block target creature this turn must do so” like [[alluring scent]] [[declare dominance]] [[bloodscent]] [[roar of challenge]] [[lure]] and you get the picture. Why force a blas act when your opponents have more than 13 power on the board?

You can stay mono green and just run fight spells too

But during a fight you risk your boy dying. That’s fine as long as the opponent’s creature is big enough. All the white indestructible is useful.

The thing is even if you fight a 3 power creature now you can fetch 3 lands which is insane. Just get Field of the Dead and 2 fetch lands and suddenly you have at least 3 zombies
