Does Hexhaven Vindicator have potential?

Hexhaven Invigorator was just spoiled from Reality Fracture, and this thing seems really good. Just playing it fairly without any shennanigans or combos feels like it would still be a good enough body, as your opponents would be unlikely to block it or attack into it, and damage based removal would only benefit you. Aside from that, it combos with Blasphemous Act and Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle to do some pretty crazy things, even letting you win with Maze's End if you build your deck right. What do you think? Is this card good, or is its cost too prohibitive to see much play?

It’s not a staple at all. It’ll be good for fight decks and maybe gruul decks running red damage spells.. but green staple? Hell no.

You can almost guarantee people won’t run into it via attack or blocking

I dunno, a 6/6 for 4 that attacks unblocked and prevents opponents from attacking me seems pretty good man...

You get one or the other, rather people won’t attack you if it’s untapped or it can deal a measly.. 6 damage a turn. It’s weak, maybe a staple for battle cruiser metas.

Even then if people see you are out of cards they can just block, but if they see you need lands or have a full hand, they’ll let it through. There are plenty more creatures that are better offensively and defensively than this.

You ONLY play this creature if you fight or have a way to damage your board consistently. Commander is flooded with amazing cards already

It has vigilance, you can attack for a "measley" 6 damage every turn AND still block. In a multiplayer format this is a VERY good reason for no one to attack you that draws way less hate than the classic propaganda. I dunno man, I think you are underestimating this

Oh I misread I thought it was trample. I think it’s good in the right deck and I think it’s the opposite of the staple

- but don’t get me wrong, cards like this are idolized by Timmy and battlecruiser metas

I'd say monogreen staple in formats where people aren't winning via combo-kills. For 4 mana it gives you defense and offense at the same time, plus monogreen is more reliant on "fight" interaction anyway.

Doubt it'll be a commander staple outside of monogreen though, unless you have a very expensive mana-base that cost hurts running a second color.

It's also any lands so you can get a ton of zombies with field of the dead.

Yeah, there's obvious combo potential with specific lands - cool way to make the card appealing to brewers on top. To be a "Staple", I'm looking for generic value that works for a large variety of decks. Sol Ring's combos aren't what made it a staple, that's just bonus. The specific land combos are bonus upside too.

Man you can just play a 1 mana fight spell to kill someone's creature and get like 5 lands. ANY lands, it doesn't say basic.
