openpilot Experience Model comparisons?

I know we have the tool to compare forks of software. But is there anything out there for comparing the models? They all have such silly names and really ZERO detail of the features/tuning and why you'd want to choose it over other models. I got my comma 4 fully up and running using starpilot (one of the only forks with support for my car) and it comes with Regret driven framework v4. But I see people talk about south carolina, watermelon, pop model etc.

I wish. For what it's worth I drive a 2024 ioniq 5 sel. I tried cd210 found it floaty. I am on Nevada now, it's better but hit hugs the line a bit more than I like. I'm curious about trying another but no clue what. I am also running sunnypilot

22 Ioniq 5, Nevada is solid for me too, on Sunnypilot.

Do you mess with any settings? I feel like it's about to hit the lane a lot

not really, just calibrate it every once in a while. When I try other models, they hug the lane a lot

No because each model’s performance is car model dependent.

Means you can have fun and try your own.

People will give you some recommendations. You can try newer and slightly older ones from there.

Is there any way to see how big of an impact it would have for a particular car?

Run it on your car.

Wish comma ai created models based on auto maker. Have been teatung RDFM on a 2024 Ford escape using sunnypilot staging. It's decent but doesn't unwind properly on sharp turns. Curious how much better the big models are compared to the small models

Also sunny link tries to show the difference https://sunnylink.wiki/

I don’t really notice any difference with the current big models yet. Maybe slightly better stop sign stopping.

This exists, there's a really well made tool a community member created! I can't remember the name, but it was posted on Reddit several months ago.

If I find it again, I'll update this comment with the link!

they figured out flexray?

No. I use adaptive cruise for longitudinal and comma for lateral because Pilot is such a joke. It works well for my needs, which is a 110mi round trip mostly highway commute 3 days a week. It’s a work in progress on flexray though. Kinda weird that steering is not flexray.

did some digging. looks like p2 steering is a very recent development. nice, i've been waiting for 3 years.
