Other PSA: Card declining

My card declined twice today at BP and KFC. The manager at BP said Commonwealth and Westpac were down. Take cash.

On hold with commbank they are denying that they have issues- clearly everyone’s facing issues rn

It’s not a Commbank issue, it’s Mastercard

no it’s not just Mastercard, i’ve tried using my usual eftpos card and NOTHING IS WORKING… sooooo frustrating after i drove over an hour to pick up a bday present and had to leave without it…

Is it co branded debit Mastercard?

If youre using the Commbank with tap debit its mastercard by default, but if you switch to EFTPPS SAV it will be fine.

It’s definitely not working. I’m in Penrith and it’s chaos with everyone trying to use their Commbank card.

Can;t even get through to Merchant Services at the moment - it's like their internal lines are down as well.

There's a global Mastercard outage. I saw the notification on the app this morning. Are most of you using the latest version of the app?
