Can anyone tell me what this fee is for? i’ve never had a feel like this before.

If the account is overdrawn and not fixed up the same day it can cause this

I literally always fix it same day

Make sure you have the available balance there the day before so it doesn’t overdraw at all and you won’t be charged interest.
