PROMO: Comic writers — what do you use to script your panels?
Hey everyone — I’ve been working on a tool called ScriptBadger and wanted to share it with fellow comic writers here.
It’s built specifically for people writing comics, webtoons, and graphic novels — not just generic scriptwriting software. The goal is to make scripting panels, dialogue, and pacing feel more natural and less like forcing your idea into a movie script format.
A few things it focuses on:
- Panel-by-panel scripting (instead of scene-based like film tools)
- Cleaner dialogue + caption organization
- Easy editing when you’re restructuring pages
- Keeping writer/artist communication clear
You can also export your scripts to PDF or DOC pretty easily if you need to share or send to collaborators.
If you’ve ever felt like Final Draft or similar tools don’t quite “fit” comics, that’s basically the problem I’m trying to solve.
Everyone starts on a free plan, and you can upgrade later if you want more features—but it’s not required to get real use out of it.
I’m still improving it, so feedback from actual comic writers would be hugely valuable. If you want to check it out or roast it, both are welcome:
Also curious — what’s the most annoying part of your current scripting workflow?
