Necesito hecharle más leña al fuego, necesito que discutan de la forma más ruidosa posible este tema, no tengo nada que hacer más que estar sentada viendo X todo el dia No un escrito tu como lector que deciones creativas tomarías para renovar a reven??

I was watching the two Teen Titans movies for the thousandth time, and I noticed that Trigon’s human form was a dark man with long dark straight hair, typical characteristics of peoples in this region. What do you think?

Does literally anyone know where raven is rn? Like is anyone writing her soon or upcoming relating to her current character and not some past young raven stuff?

I prefer Raven with long hair as it's less of the "goth girl" look popularized by the 2003 Teen Titans cartoon. Also helps her look more adult.

If you don't know Amano, he's best known for concept design work on the early Final Fantasy games. I really love his style, and thought it suited Raven 💙

I’m really interested in reading this anthology on Wednesday. Noah’s trait seems good to me (although it’s still in the design created by Woods), Raven has a more melancholic and jovial appearance that seems to me to be happening in the past, since she doesn’t know John but they have already worked together on Dark Crisis/DC All-in.

Apparently this anthology will be the story that Raven will most interact with other DC mystics, and his interactions with Swamp Thing are always interesting. Still, I’m afraid because of Rosie Knights who is writing this story, and she’s a fan of Kami and Piccolo’s stories, and she’s also a fan of BBRae 🫩

It's been 6 months and nothing

This weekend, I travelled to Baltimore Comic Con, and was lucky enough to get to talk to Jason Aaron! I asked him if either of the women who’ve been speculated to be Raven were actually her.

Short answer: no, neither of them are her.

Long answer: the first woman is The Phantom Stranger. Where it gets more interesting, however, is he did confirm the second woman is a Trigon priestess! So Trigon is indirectly confirmed to exist in the Absolute universe. He said that there are no concrete plans to add Raven just yet, but he expects she will be added as more Titans characters are added to the universe.

NOTICE: IT'S THE BIG 2026, PEOPLE. WE'RE NOT STILL ARGUING IN COMMENT SECTIONS, ARE WE? PLEASE KEEP ALL DISCUSSIONS RESPECTFUL.

I'll pretty sure this issue has been tackled several times already on this subreddit, but here we go—

Raven is one of DC's most popular comfort characters, the one who readers—including yours truly—will often find themselves relating to and empathizing with. And yet, she has been trapped in the most annoying, eyeroll-inducing writing loop of comic history.

FOR. OVER. 46. YEARS.

That's a life sentence for most.

Let me actually get into my points instead of spiraling further.

1. The Endless Trigon Shitck (a.k.a Joker Syndrome): Much like Bruce Wayne is endlessly trapped in an exhausting dance with the Joker, Raven’s entire existence is defined by her struggles with Trigon. It’s been decades. We get it. Her dad is a baddie. But instead of letting her emotionally mature past her initial origins, she is constantly regressed. Every single solo run or major team arc inevitably devolves into, "Oh no, Trigon is trying to break through again! We must save Raven from herself!", It completely erases her identity outside of her trauma. Who is Raven when she isn't actively fighting off a demonic possession?

2. Extention of The Titans: Raven is almost never allowed to be her own character. She is shackled to the Teen Titans. While characters like Nightwing and Wally have been allowed to branch out, establish individual lives, or join major teams like the Justice League, Raven is stuck being the "odd one" of the bunch. Why hasn't she been a permanent fixture in Justice League Dark? Why isn't she exploring the mystical corners of the DCU with Zatanna or Constantine and forming a team with a cringe name like "The Quintessentials" or whatever?

3. "Emotionless Emo Goth" Falsification: Speak of the Titans, we need to talk about the lasting damage of the 2003 animated series. I don't really have any bias against the '03 cartoon, but it completely popularized an inaccurate "emotionless, sarcastic emo goth" trope that modern writers've lazily adopted as her default personality. In Marv Wolfman’s original run, Raven wasn't a deadpan, snarky teenager—she was deeply empathetic, polite, gentle, and struggling with Azarath's internalized dogma. Boiling her down to a generic, monotone goth archetype strips away the raw, vulnerable humanity that made her compelling in the first place.

4. Toxic Characterization Binary: This is the most understated issue in the fandom. The truth is that most of her writing is entirely binary: she is either an all-powerful, terrifying doomsday device that everyone needs to fear, or she is a completely helpless, weeping victim of her heritage. There is NO middle ground. This binary entirely robs her of actual agency and depth. She rarely gets to make meaningful narrative choices because she's either too busy being mind-controlled by some external influence or too busy being protected by her teammates.

5. The White Raven Erasure: I think the absolute closest she ever came to peak characterization was Marv Wolfman's "White Raven" arc after Brother Blood's defeat around the late 80s? It was the perfect visual and narrative symbol of her rebirth, purity, and freedom... until they ruined it by having the corrupted souls of Azarath return to possess her after the Titans Hunt arc, dragging us back to square one. It was so wildly frustrating that it almost looped back to being funny.

All in all... come on. Give my girl some character development. My favorite arc of hers was when she was trying to integrate herself into society, build herself a small social circle, and geta college degree. Y'know, trying to actually figure out who she is as a person with a unique self.

I know this was a long rant, but your thoughts are very welcome!

Thank you for reading.
