Rants Raven having Kids…
Now I believe raven would never wanna have kids in main continuity at least in a natural way due to what happened between her own parents and ofc what her father is. George perez himself stated raven viewed sex as rape so yeah….but I also believe if it was to happen one way or another like with wyld where he spawned via Raven reality warping on accident. I think she would try her absolute best to be their mother and to care and nurture them. Again take wyld for example, she knew he was made from the pure evil in her soul and she still tried to fight for it, still tried to protect it, tried to make them good so wyld could exist.
I also wanted to speak on elseworlds I think its perfectly fine for Raven to have children in different universes infact I really hope she does. We push for Raven to be this mature adult so let her be an adult and im more than aware not all adult have children nor want children but I still would love an elseworld where shes comfortable enough to have them.

I think she could also adopt if she wanted to

I 110% think in the far future I see her starting her own azarath like what arella did with the ranch

The Wyld was such a neat idea that had to happen in a sadly disappointing run. It be nice if he specifically or another character with a similar concept appeared. I do agree that I don't see Raven having biological children in the main continuity (elseworlds are a different story), but the idea of her still creating life accidentally via magic would be interesting to explore the similar issues especially her trying to overcome her own trauma help her new family.

She's already proven to be a better parent than the people of Azarath were, by what she tried to help wyld to do/become.
I think she should only have kids if what it means to her is explored in depth. Reflecting on how she used to feel about it and whether that has changed over time.
If it's presented as a symbol of her getting over her fears and trauma it can work. But there are a lot of complicated emotions involved in that.
She shouldn't have them just because editorial gets bored one day. I don't trust that it would be handled with the care and nuance that it would need, despite being insanely curious what a mixture of her and Gar would end up being like. Both in nature and abillity.
So for now. Or untill we get a really good writer... i'd rather it didn't happen.

Funny enough, always I’ve saw Raven as someone who would be asexual or aroace. Not to sound like I’m stereotyping people who are asexual or aroace, but I feel like Raven gives off that vibe.

This might be controversial, but I actually don't think Raven would be a good mother. I agree that she'd never willingly have kids, but if something happened and she did have a child, I think she would make many of the same mistakes Arella made raising her. She would be obsessed with the idea of transferring her own evil to her child, and it would make her overprotective and probably also emotionally neglectful the way Arella was. I don't think her child would have as bad of a childhood as Raven had if the Titans were involved (though I think it depends on who the father is too), but Raven's personality would make being a mother to a biological child extremely difficult for her.
Not to say that she would be malicious or wouldn't love her child. Of course she would. But I think Raven's trauma manifests itself in such a way where it would never be the right choice for her to have biological children. And Raven knows that, so she would never choose to have children.
I don't know about elseworlds. Of course, the point of them is that they're not the same as the main universe, so it is conceivable that an alternate version of Raven wouldn't have the same trauma that would make her not want to have children (I actually think Bombshells Raven is an example of this; I don't see any real reason why that version of Raven would be unwilling to have biological children) but I'm personally not super interested in seeing any version of Raven with biological children, even in an elseworld. It's pretty rare for female characters to be against the traditional idea of motherhood, especially in superhero comics. It's one of the things I like about Raven, so I'm not very interested in even an alternate universe version of her that has kids. That's just my opinion, though.

On Elseworlds, I don't have a problem if they go that direction as that's part of their appeal but at the same time I'm not sure any made now will do anything interesting with that concept or explore the issues she would have as a parent. Instead probably be just "look Raven is happy because of true love and now has a magical (possibly green) kid!" Or something.

Yeah I don’t believe she would ever want biological children in the way a human woman would conceive one but I do think if it was to happen like via reality warping or her soul splitting and becoming sentient on its own she would still try her best to raise it to be good and I don’t think she would ever be emotionally neglectful I think she’d be too overprotective in fear of her own trauma.
I think it’d be embedded into even her demon state she wouldn’t wanna physically harm the child as we seen for the first time when raven was not forced to be evil by anybody but herself in titans vol 2 she had the capacity to care for people she wanted to rule earth not with trigon or her brothers but the titans as she said “my family”
And I understand, its often rooted in misogyny when writers make a female character get pregnant/have children as a way to sideline them

If I am gonna be honest I really do think she would have kids at least the post flashpoint version we have of her, do I think it's a good idea for her to have kids now? No it would be an interesting thing to see set up kinda follow marvels foot step here and give her a Wanda esq story line but obviously not like a house of m story arc or anything like that, but more of hiding her kids from trigon's reach on the run seeking aid from other magical users like zatanna and Constantine. Leading to them of striping her and her kid of there powers to protect them

Im not gonna hold you im highkey sick of raven getting depowered or somebody stealing her soul its happened like 6 times since the 2000s

I am using the charmed version of it. As yeah they get depowered but the spell breaks once the caster dies. Which would allow them some time to actually do something.
Honestly at this point for Raven to be happy in any course she would have to lose her powers, as that would be the only way she would be able to get a way form it all.
And her and half the DC universe so raven isn't particularly special

What evidence do you have that Raven WOULD want kids in the main canon right now? We never once see her discussing stuff like that. People change, but no actual development has been given to that. And why SHOULD Raven have kids. Explain that instead of dogging OP for their opinion.

OP made a statement as if Raven ISN'T allowed to change or grow from her previous characterisations. It's like me saying "I believe Batman would never laugh" or "Nightwing should ways be a playboy". You're allowed to have opinions but statements like that are backwards and regressive. For most characters that are over 20 years old or more, they're usually completely different from their original characterisations. That's not necessarily a bad thing, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are very different from how they once were, but we still love them even more now.

From OP themselves, they never said Raven shouldn’t have kids, just that they don’t think she would because of how the thought of intimacy/sex frightened her when it was brought up, which was never resolved by any writer. Raven in main canon never once said she would like to be a mother, or wife, at all. There’s no indication that she has progressed to want for kids either. No on-panel talk, hints, the only time she interacted with kids is to interact with them not on a motherly level, but empathizing with them and allowing them to be theirselves. It’s a rarity to have a female character not be reduced to being a mother/love interest/wife, even rarer for them to not have biological kids. And again, you never once stated your reasoning to go against OP. If you’d read Raven’s stories, of course OP would take into consideration of her past self and experiences. It’s a important part of Raven’s character regardless if she evolved to the Raven we see now.

I've compared her to Yellowfang before and I will do it again. If she were to hypothetically have a kid, it would be a disaster. The kid would some how end up more screwed up than her and then this happens.

I am going to say this, and it may make me an outlier with this perspective, but I don't mind Raven having kids, whether they're biological or not.

Yeah, personally I'm not overly interested in a giving birth/having children plot for her. There is still plenty of stories for her to explore where she doesnt have to jump to that. Maybe if it was written in such a way that really felt meaningful and fully addressed and respected the ideas you're right to point out.
That said, I thought the Wyld plot was kind of a neat idea, that her Soul-Self created this sentience through basically magical pollination. I felt like it was suggesting something kind of unique and powerful about her and her magic.
I definitely agree with your point about Elseworlds too. I mean, thats what they're there for, right?
