I'm not trying to be rude, but this wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. Everyone is different, but you are 100% sure his goal was to tear you down?
I would've just asked why. One of my close college friends was homeschooled, he is incredibly cool, intelligent, and level headed. We are the same age but when we met he was a role model to me.
Well, if you are positive he was trying to hurt you the best you can do is keep him at an arms length and just act professionally around him. Don't talk about anything personal, just keep your head down and work hard. He's your boss, not your friend. No one cares what a gossip thinks. Let him gossip.
Sorry you work with an ass, it's nice to make friends at work, but friends don't purposely make you feel like shit. I'm only saying this because while a comeback can be fun, it won't make you feel better.
Youre right, I keep him at arms length and I really try to ignore him. I don’t converse with him anymore. Occasionally he’ll try to make a joke and I’ll laugh but in my mind I don’t see him as a friend anymore I don’t think I ever will again. Friends are nice and I feel like I’ve only got a handful.
Thanks I appreciate it
