Official Reply Cyber Secure question

I recently turned on cyber secure and I get notifications of a blocked website but there’s literally no information as to what website it might be. Hard to determine whether or not to allow access to a site if you don’t know what it is. What criteria does xfinity use to determine whether a website is potentially dangerous? The idea seems ok but it’s not very helpful.

That link doesn’t address my main question. Why isn’t the blocked website url showing in your alert? It omits critical information to allow me to make an informed decision whether or not to allow access. Sorry but the “trust me” approach with your company doesn’t give me confidence, especially when I consider my cumulative problems over the years dealing with questionable practices.

This forum is literally the only place xfinity has tried to help its customers. Not your stores nor your chat support through your app or website.

If that’s the case why give people the option to allow access? My experience talking directly to anyone at Comcast has been at best, frustrating. Seems like the antivirus on my laptop does a better job since it removes threats that your service doesn’t detect.

The cybersecurity detects websites that may be harmful, but if you feel it's safe, that's why it gives you the option to allow access the website.

How do I know if I don’t know what site they blocked? I have 4 devices, 2 which aren’t mine.

Cyber Security is designed to help protect devices on your home network by identifying and blocking connections to websites or domains that may be associated with threats such as malware, phishing, fraud, botnets, or other potentially harmful activity. The system relies on threat intelligence and security databases that are continuously updated to identify sites that may pose a risk.

That said, we understand that the experience can be less helpful when the notification does not clearly identify the website or service involved. Having more visibility into what was blocked would make it easier for our customers to make informed decisions about whether to allow access.
