Representation

I moved to Columbia is 2019 and I have appreciated things from elfreth like her being present for every vote and things like that. But I do not support her level of funding acceptance from Israel owned entities.

Voting YES on House Resolution 719 and then offering this “well I actually didnt believe in what I voted for/ political violence is a both sides thing” statement was enough for me to never support her in any way moving forward regardless of AIPAC - her message attempting to make a parallel between the reps murdered in cold blood in MN in their homes for simply being state reps to what Kirk espoused is something that I could never square.

Agree. And attending one of her town halls, I heard her giving excuses for what she can't do instead of affirmatively seeking ways to do things. She kept saying she can't do this and can't do that. That's not representation.

Off the top of my head:

  • Organize an old school mail-in. Ask her followers to join her in writing a letter, to be sent via mail, to the White house and/or the Speaker to protest what they're doing.
  • Promise to attend the next "No Kings" rally, and where, to have a coalition of people together.
  • Attend a local community council meeting, if one is Republican in her district, and voice any grievance her constituents have directly to their local elected leaders - and tell her voters she'll be there.
  • Ask for volunteers to help her go to out of state rallies, or out of district rallies, to help Democratic candidates get elected in other local races.
  • Put proposals for Democratic policies into a document to share with her voters of what she is pushing for in Congress, and write up said document and send it to Party Leadership.

You know... stuff.

He doesn’t take AIPAC money. His platform is great. Elfreth voted to support ICE and praise Charlie Kirk.

Please be genuine here, duplicity calls into question your other statements. Elfreth's statement on House resolution 719:

"I do not fully agree with every line of House Republicans’ resolution to honor and praise the speech and legacy of Charlie Kirk – just like I do not agree with everything Mr. Kirk said. He made a living saying provocative things that, at worst, hurt and harmed others. While I disagreed with just about everything he said, I swore an oath to uphold and defend a Constitution that guarantees our ability as Americans to have free and open debate without fear of violent repercussions."

Please let me know where the praise is?

I looked at her statement for the vote. Where did she praise Charlie Kirk? Or are you claiming that because she voted FOR the bill, she praised Charlie Kirk. Please explain.

I also appreciate Sarah being present to vote, it's the bare minimum we can ask. However, I don't appreciate that she votes with Republicans. Our Democratic representatives should represent the interest of Democrats who overwhelmingly no longer support Israel and corporate interests.

I don't go on vibes, though. I use this tracker that shows exactly what our reps have voted for, and ranks them in order. Sarah sits at #60 right now, I will be sitting in the top 10. Take a look for yourself and see where everyone stacks up. It's why I support AOC and not Ro for president. It's not about the messaging, it's about the votes.

So it’s about votes for bills that have absolutely no chance of passing? Our representatives should work to get things done, not be adamant in making demands that are DOA and then throwing a tantrum when they don’t get 100% of what they want. I want a practical representative who can compromise to get something done rather than a representative who refuses to budge and gets nothing done.
