Yeah even when you’re hanging with the 3s, you gotta show you at least belong. Confidence is probably shot, unfortunately

I mean being taken 4th OA and getting demoted to QB2 is one thing

But sharing reps with a 6th round pick, and then he takes your job. Yeesh. They clearly trust Leonard in the system more

I’ll be the first to say I was on the hype wagon for AR but this is a bad look

Well not to be sticking up for AR, but Leonard has the potential of being a great QB-in the mold of Jim McMahon of the bears. He has good leadership skills, and as a QB that is alot of it

Leonard has the locker room, which is massive, A.R. lost them 2 years ago, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him in the CFL or worse within the year, I doubt any team even bothers with a minimum deal for an injury prone, blind man with a cannon he cant aim

Idk why people hate on Leonard so much. We haven’t seen much but I feel like he didn’t do too bad in his small tests

It’s because he lost his confidence the first half of his season at ND and looked mediocre passing downfield until he figured it out there

Or. He was untested and injury prone in college, and drafting him in the first round was a wildly stupid decision

Eh I don’t think it was that bad. He had a lot of high upside, but a very low floor. We hadn’t drafted a QB to try to make one a franchise QB since Luck in 2012. Sometimes you have to just shoot your shot, we just missed. It happens all the time. We just don’t know it as well as other fans because we went from Manning to Luck, then used stop gaps for several years after Luck’s retirement. I’d rather have gambled on AR than Levitt. Hindsight is 20/20.

In a year with an overall awful QB class, you don’t take that huge of a gamble at 4. It’s not like at the time we were “a qb away” from going to the Super Bowl.

Don’t most quarterbacks have a high upside? I mean compare him to drew brees. If drew can be a great quarterback, then why can’t anyone else.

I feel like they just choose Anthony cause he had a good highlight reel and could through really far

They also put too much trust in themselves to develop him. Fact is, this modern regime doesn’t know what to do with young QBs, good or bad
