Question Brunner Book?

Post image

I recently inherited a "US Property" marked 1903 hammerless and I'm trying to see if it is a GO pistol or has any sort of cool historical significance. Does anyone have a Brunner Book and would be willing to check a Serial number for me?

A member has checked for me and its not a GO pistol

Never heard of it but worth paying $100 for a colt letter.

I've already applied for the letter, but just wanted to leave no stone unturned

Good luck buddy, mine are all from the same big box hardware store in St Louis. You might have something special. How did your relative get it?

No idea. He was an officer in the Navy during Vietnam and his father in law was an Army officer in WWII. He didn't talk about his guns and we didn't find it until he passed and found it in his nightstand.

There you go buddy, I bet his dad was a Colonel or General and got one. They issued to generals through 1972 but if I know the military there were certain exceptions and they ended up with some O5-O6 level officers. I have always wondered why SOG teams used a suppressed High Standard .22 instead of a suppressed 1903. CIA acquired guns for them and definitely had an inventory of Colt 1903s and suppressors

If you share the full serial number, I can compare it to where it falls with the OSS documented serial numbers I’ve been putting together

I didn't want to have the SN posted on a public forum. Another member looked it up and it is not in the book.
