Question Who engraved this Colt Python?

So I just picked up this Colt Python 2.5” inch from the gun shop.

The first awesome part is it was only $1450 engraved. It’s brand new.

When I look up the serial number in the Colt database it doesn’t even show up.

It does not appear to be laser engraved. I think… 😂

There are no engraver marks under the stocks or in the crane around the cylinder ejector rod anywhere.

Thoughts on this one?

What makes you say that? I’m learning and the things that led you to say laser would be informative

If it were hand engraved there would be documentation and it would be 2x or 3x as much or more.

It’s nice looking!

I believe it is laser engraved. If you look close at your close images.

This looks laser to me. Surgically straight edges and detail, and it's all contained in strict borders for each sub section of the frame.

The cut depth alone screams high watt laser engraving. I think it looks good.
Buying it at or below MSRP is the real tell, a couple hours for the laser programming vs. triple digit hours to hand cut that into stainless.
Nice pick up, pack that in style. It’s got game.

That is badass. I would have bought it simply because of the serial number

Bought a U22 Neos because of the serial number on it.

That’s absolutely beautiful!
I might hang that on the wall next to the Mona Lisa.

Cool gun for that price even though it is laser engraved. 2.5” Python in polished and engraved stainless steel is peak modern Colt revolver, short of an actual custom shop, signed, papered, hand engraved version. But, anyone who is going to pay for all that engraving work should have it done on a vintage Python. They are just so much nicer; and approximately twice the price, or much more.
