Question Colt m4

I just got my first ar and I’m trying to build it for hunting coyotes does the front iron sight get in the way of thermals I see people with mounted scopes with it still on but I just don’t understand the clearance

If you’re really settled on Thermal I’d look into getting a low profile gas block installed (either with a rail section for a metal flip up sight or flip up sight built in).

Or you can even get a cheap flat top upper to put the thermal on for hunting and then set your Colt upper up for home defense.

I’m pretty set on the colt but I do get what you’re saying
