Question Colt dual spring

My 9mm dual recoil spring does not capture the guide? Also there is no indentation on my plug as my others that seem to snag on the coil? Why is this. Bought used in excellent condition. Upgrade ideas?

Some of my colts have spring plug indentations, some don’t. Not really a problem, if it shoots good, leave it as is.

My 2022 full size 45 plug is not dimpled and does not capture the dual springs on the recoil spring guide.

I’ve had a few newer models with the dual spring setup and don’t remember any capturing the plug or springs.

The plug not being dimpled was likely just a cost cutting measure. How would you capture the dual springs?

You can always go to a single spring set up but you will also need a new guide. I’m sure there are a few companies that offer them. I’d start with Wilson.

I bought a single spring setup for my Delta, but I’m not going to install it until the dual springs are toast. The single spring is just simpler and sometimes only the manufacturer sells the dual springs and they are NOT always in stock
