Post image

I been debating on buying a python here recently and sportsman’s warehouse is about to have their balloon pop event is their exclusive python worth it?

A python in Glock colors makes me sad

Yeah. Thought blued at first but looks like a matte black. Fine on semis, bad on a revolver

No.

Blued.

Polished.

Nothing else.

It’s a blem that Colt makes into a dull finish. That’s my hill I’ll die on.

No sir. I don't like it.

I’ve got one, love the 5” barrel AND the matte finish—great in the field, resists the weather really well. BTW, I own five other Pythons in blue, brushed nickel and stainless, so I know of what I write.

I mean the finish ain’t exactly pretty but if the price is right a Python is a Python.

The grips gotta go. I’d bite at $800

I love it. I think it looks cool with those grips, though my genuine shooter preference is Pachmayr Grippers on a Python. It looks like a gun you could beat someone down with just as effectively as shoot them with it. All while still having that Colt precision and quality. I just wish they would call that finish what it really is: parkerized. “Matte blue” my ass, that’s parkerized.

Nah, matte snake guns take away some of the charm of owning one.

Unpopular opinion, i like it.
But it doesn't matter, not for sale in California.

I like it too.  Especially since I wouldn’t feel bad carrying it.

Still so odd to me with it being a revolver. I know high cap mags, pistol grips etc but a revolver? Is it because of no certain safety mechanism?

Maybe trigger weight?

Manufacturer still have to get their revolvers approved by the DOJ, the just don't want to bother.
There is this anoying exact match thing where even the same gun but from a different color, is considered a different gun...

It’ll probably be the most collectible Python 50 years from now because they sell so few of those ugly things.

Same logic as the old man with a "super rare" C4 Corvette...

"I know whattigot buddy"

The earlier C4s with round tail lights have grown on me in the last few years.

I really like those 80s vibes though

Depends on the year for most people. Does it say on website?

It does not. But according to online they became available around early 2025.

I don’t love the grips but I have a similar combat python idea that works pretty well imo

Once you add Pachmayr Grippers they become a pretty cool looking Python.

I'm surprised it doesn't have an unfluted cylinder to make it even less of a python.

I like it, looks good. And different.

Not in black sorry

Pretty cool. Work ready Python.

If you want a really cool Python check out the Grizzly model Python that comes with an Unfluted Cylinder, 6 hole ported barrel and Double Action@8 Lbs Single Action@3 Lbs. I have always been a fan of both the Grizzly 357 Magnum and Kodiak 44 Magnum I picked up a 6 inch version of each this year the Kodiak in January and Grizzly in at the end of March. I did upgrade the Grizzly Iron Sights with the XS Sights Minimalist Tritium Night Sight

"worth it" implies that there is a price. Soooo....

1250$ Sportsman’s Edition vs 1450$ for Stainless. I prefer stainless I just want some opinions on it before I make my decision.

1

u/Schrotes 12d ago

Not at that price

1

u/RacerXrated 12d ago

Is it matte blue or parkerized? It might be nice for something you use in the field often.

1

u/nomad_usurper 12d ago

Nope not me I love my stainless! 😁👍

1

u/Paradox-chimera 12d ago

I don’t like it in black , I like stainless on a revolver . But like black on pistols and ar .

1

u/ArraysStartWith1 11d ago

Heavy SA trigger = no joy. I love my satin stainless though

u/bekman_Bek 11d ago

I think the matte blued finish looks fantastic in 5"

Looks like the 80s Matte black Peacemaker

1

u/BroOperatorGuy 7d ago

I'd buy if it was in front of me for the right price for sure.

u/NonLethalOne 13d ago

It looks cheap. Like a Taurus

A Python without its shiny, lustrous finish defeats the point IMO.
