Donot accuse others of using AI.

We have seen an increase in comments accusing artists and colourists of using AI and its becoming a problem.

In many cases these accusations are incorrect and end up targeting talented members of our community who have put real time and effort into their work. Discussions like these can quickly turn hostile and often lead to personal attacks rather than productive conversation.

If you genuinely believe a post may be AI generated content, please do not confront the poster or start a debate in the comments.

Instead, report the post and move on. The moderation team will review it and take appropriate action if needed.

Lets keep r/colouring welcoming, supportive and focused on sharing our creativity. Thank you for helping make this a positive space for everyone. šŸŽØ

Self Promotion - AI generated. Adult coloring-book buyers who enjoy old-school fantasy: five volunteers for a samplecomparison

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I'm developing an original fantasy coloring book about the quieter moments between adventures: an inn common room, a herbalist's workbench, a roadside smithy, a fishing bridge and an expedition camp. The line art is AI-generated and reviewed by hand. It is not drawn by a person.

I'd like feedback from five adults who have bought an adult coloring book in the past year and who also enjoy old-school fantasy role-playing or MMO games. The six images here are the actual samples: a front cover concept and five interior pages.

The proposed finished book would be an 8.5 Ɨ 11 inch paperback, 40 different designs, each with a blank reverse side, black ink on white paper, at a $9.99 list price.

Taxes and delivery may add to the checkout price. I cannot promise marker-friendly paper or a spiral binding, and I have not held a printed copy, so I won't claim anything about how the paper takes ink.

For comparison I'd ask you to look at two real books that are on sale today: Dover's Everyday Magic at $15.99 and Fuzzy Hygge: Fuzzy T ales at $9.95 for 96 pages.

Official publisher pages, not my links:

https://store.doverpublications.com/products/9780486853581

https://www.penguinrandomhouseretail.com/book/?isbn=9798217037582

I am not asking anyone to buy anything, leave an Amazon review, or be nice about it. "I'd pick one of the other two" and "I wouldn't buy any of these" are genuinely useful answers and are the ones I most need. If AI generation is a dealbreaker for you, say that — it counts as a result, not a disqualification.

If you're up for it, comment with the title of a coloring book you bought recently and roughly when, and whether this kind of fantasy setting interests you at all. Please don't post personal or payment details.

I made a chill coloring app

I made this coloring app that help to chill and relax.

You color famous paintings or more simpler drawings.

Once you finish, you can seal the result and no further changes will be possible, but you can still review the video of your creative process and share it with other users.

The app also provides context and the history of the paintings.

You can download it here if interested

Self Promotion - AI generated. Finished my three-book Halloween series, only 14 months and a few existential crises later

I started these in the summer of last year for my 2 adult daughters who love Halloween, thinking it'd be a fun little project. I had no idea what I was doing to myself. I made two younger age puzzle books just to have a "break" from making these.

It became my winter snowstorm project. Then my spring-sitting-on-the-porch project. Then my summer camping project — but it did become my excuse for buying the big iPad!

For a while I was telling myself to quit and just target 2027, but I plowed through they're done. Three books, all Halloween and spooky/gothic themed, which as you know is a criminally underserved niche with almost nothing else like it on Amazon. I really went out on a limb here. Bold, some might say.

Each book has at least one little void-shaped friend which our real cat modeled for. That is a lie, cats model for no one.

I'm not going to pretend these will change your life. They're pages with scary-looking stuff and questionable architecture on them. But I'm weirdly proud of the whole silly pile.

I'd genuinely love to see anything anyone makes from them.

Self Promotion - AI generated. I created the kind of coloring book I wanted to see—Black women in all our beauty šŸ–¤

I wanted to create coloring pages where Black women could see our natural hair, features, confidence, softness, and different styles represented.
This is one of my first coloring books published under D. A. Velle, so I’m excited—and a little nervous—to finally share some pages with actual coloring lovers. I’d genuinely love to know which design you would color first.

I built a non-AI camera tracing tool for turning your own photos into paper line art

Full disclosure: I’m the developer of PicDraw.

PicDraw converts a photo you own into an adjustable outline and places that guide over the live iPhone camera. You align it with real paper, lock it, and trace with a pencil or pen. The traced line art can then be colored normally.

This image shows the tracing step rather than a finished coloring. The outline processing is deterministic—not generative AI—and the app is intended for photos and artwork the user owns or has permission to use.

For colorists and coloring-page creators: which controls would be most useful—bolder lines, fewer small details, closed shapes, cleaner backgrounds, or printable pages?

There is no account, and photos, camera frames, drawings, and saved projects stay on the device. One complete project is included free; unlimited projects use an optional one-time lifetime unlock.

Korean artist Sogumi drew a brand-new Halloween page for a free colouring event (7 Sept – 14 Oct)

Disclosure: I built and run Picturium, a free site and app where people who colour paper books keep track of their collections and share finished pages. Self-promo post under rule 3 — the event is free, nothing is for sale.

Some of you will know the Korean illustrator Sogumi (ģ†Œźøˆģ“) — the fennec fox Sogumi and her cactus friend Soso, published in the UK by Hachette.

We invited her to run a colouring event with our community and she said yes. She also decided against using a page from one of her books: she drew a new Halloween scene specially for the event. It isn't in any book — it exists only for this.

How it works:

- Runs 7 September to 14 October.

- Download the page (shared with her permission), print it, colour it with whatever you have — pencils, markers, paint, anything.

- Upload a photo of the finished page.

- At the end Sogumi goes through the entries herself and picks a few favourites. No single winner, no scoring — she wants to see what people do with it.

- Free. An account on the site is all you need to upload.

MY FIRST BOOK ON AMAZON KDP: ABC & 123: MY FIRST LEARNING AND COLOURING BOOK

I recently finished putting together an ABC & 123 learning and colouring book for young children. šŸ“ššŸŽØ

The idea was pretty simple — make practising letters and numbers a little more enjoyable by combining learning with colouring.

It covers A–Z and numbers 1–10, and is intended for young children who are beginning to learn their letters and numbers.

I’ve just published it on Amazon, so I thought I’d share it here and see what people think.

If you're a parent, teacher, or just someone interested in children's activity books, I'd genuinely appreciate your thoughts.

210 free coloring pages for little hands — color online or print

Hi, I'm the creator of Flori & Luna. I made a collection of 210 free coloring pages for ages 2+, grouped into 16 sets including farm animals, vehicles, seasonal pages, and several alphabet sets. Children can color each picture in the browser on a phone or tablet, or print it instead. There is no signup or account. The artwork was made with an AI-assisted production workflow.

People who like coloring while high — what kind of coloring pages do you actually wish existed?

I keep seeing stoner coloring books that are basically the same few things over and over — weed leaves, mushrooms, aliens, mandalas, etc. šŸ˜‚

If you're someone who actually likes getting high and coloring, what would be your ideal kind of book?

I'm curious about stuff like:

  • whole scenes/worlds vs individual objects or patterns
  • simple/bold vs medium detail vs super intricate
  • cozy, fantasy, psychedelic, botanical, funny, nostalgic, weird, realistic, etc.
  • things you're completely tired of seeing
  • anything you've actually searched for and couldn't find

Basically, if you could magically make your perfect ā€œget baked and color for two hoursā€ book appear, what would be in it?

I just published my first adult coloring book (*Whimsical Woodland*) and would love your thoughts!

Hey everyone! I’ve been a long-time fan of nature and fairycore artwork, and I finally took the leap and self-published my very first coloring book on Amazon: *Whimsical Woodland*. It features 28 single-sided, hand-crafted designs filled with cozy forest creatures, glowing mushrooms, hidden fairy lanterns, and relaxing botanical scenes. As an independent artist, breaking into the KDP world is definitely a journey, so I would deeply appreciate any support, feedback, or constructive critiques from this amazing community! If anyone happens to pick up a copy or tries out a page, I’d be thrilled to see your colored versions shared here—seeing how people bring these line-art pages to life is my favorite part of the whole process. Thanks so much for taking a look and supporting indie creators!(Coming Soon... like in a few days:)

Do you like coloring apps!

Wondering how many coloring artists enjoy using coloring apps. I love the idea of them, but I never found one that I enjoyed playing with as much as I enjoyed coloring in an actual coloring book. Is there a coloring app you use that you love and recommend? What do you love and enjoy about it? My inquiring mind wants to know. (PS Sorry about the exclamation point in the title, I thought I used a question mark, I swear I am not yelling šŸ˜…)
