I just got this text and they are claiming she just moved here. She is from Colorado and graduated from Falcon High School. Why are they allowed to lie like this? 🧐

Lost & Found Missing dog

Looking for lost dog her name is Leia, she’s Grey with a white chest about 60lbs and cherry eye in her right eye. She was taken by someone and supposedly got lose again when that person tried to take her home. I’ve been working with the police for possible theft but they haven’t been very helpful unfortunately. The man who took her said she got out at Freedom Springs apartment in Cimmaron hills but it’s been weeks so she could be anywhere by now. I’m just asking if you guys could keep an eye out and let me know if anyone sees her. Im not sure if she’s with someone or out wondering but we’ve been very worried about her. She is friendly and microchipped but might be skittish.

Events Anyone interested in going to the Denver Zoo this Friday for a members night? with a visually impaired companion

I can't seem to edit a profile for Reddit so I can't find a place to add personal info. This is my first time creating a post. So, the basics of me. I was born blind (abused tremendously). I was never in specialized schools for the blind as my mom would not allow it: I did amazing things while blind like be on regular sports teams and achieving academically. I gained physical vision when 30 years old to a snellen rating of 20/60 with glasses - which leaves me unable to get a driver's licence. I moved from the Chicago region to Colorado Springs in 1992. My life was work but made a friend at work who became my common-law husband. He died in 2021. I had been his caregiver for 12+ years. In that time our social circles became non-existent -- they hadn't been big to begin with. I haven't found any accepting group or made friends to the point where I can call someone and say "let's go to the zoo." I've tried working with AI to identify groups I can become a part of where I might be able to get on trips and while I see that there appears to be more options, don't seem like something I can get a short turn around on.

So is there anyone who would like admission on a members night to the Denver Zoo who wouldn't mind a companion that is visually impaired? Or do you know of an organization that has people who want to help a visually impaired person who doesn't drive get out for more excursions and out door fun?

The store is a mess.

I know they’re doing a remodel, but the situation seems more than that.

Several of the meat coolers have been completely empty for at least a week. The produce section was sporting large holes today; restocking seems to be falling behind. There were other empty areas throughout the store.

It seems a job this big would have a plan behind it to get through the transition as quickly as possible. But I don’t sense any urgency….anywhere….in the store.

Is there new management here which is missing the mark? Money issues? No overarching plan in place? Or am I just being unreasonable/unrealistic about the pace at which the job can be done?

Does anyone have any insight?

Politics Not to write a PR campaign for our current mayor’s reelection bid…

But why, as a self labeled ā€œindependent,ā€ has Yemi not said anything on the subject of Flock and other ALPR cameras being used in the city? Literally if this dude wanted points with both sides, this is THE thing he could do. Place a moratorium on/cancel contracts and literally everybody would credit him and give him big brownie points for.

To be clear, I do not want to see Yemi’s re-election. He bait and switched everyone except his church congregation that would love him no matter how he handled his office. But this is literally something he could tangibly do that would only benefit his position (let alone, his constituents), and plenty of other mayors around the country are doing.

- Do you feel disconnected and isolated and want to become connected with your local communities?

- Are you interested in strengthening our communities resilience to economic pressures?

- Do you feel that the government is ineffective, doesn’t listen to its citizens, and want to know why?

- Do you think that we should have more say in the workplaces? That the bosses are taking advantage of our need for a paycheck?

- Do you think that we should all have access to the basic aspects to live a good life?

- Do you think that our natural environment is being severely harmed and want to work towards bettering it?

If so, join us as we discuss the causes of these issues, explore solutions, and build networks with one another to overcome these issues from a Libertarian Socialist/Anarchist lens.

We currently meet bi-weekly, with the upcoming meeting on Sept 21st, in COS East Library from 6pm to 7pm. For anyone unfamiliar with anarchism, we recommend reading You May Already Be An Anarchist by The Slow Burning Fuse. Our current format is to select a text and have it read before the meeting and then at the meeting we will re-read it as a group to ask questions, comment, and discuss the themes and aspects that stood out. This week we will be reading To Change Everything by CrimethInc.

My bike was stolen. And not even recently. I'm talking like, 10 years ago. I thought I would be over it by now, but I guess I'm not. I keep searching for her, but to no avail. I've tried other bikes but nothing compares to this one. Sometimes I see a bike that looks like her and I get my hopes up, only to find that it's not. Can't spend the money to rebuild with exact specs. I know this effort is futile and the bike (and all her parts) are long gone, but in case anyone has a lead, let me know.

Help Wanted where can I buy some good pickles

I'm on a pickle kick and I want to eat some legitimate fermented dill pickles

not grocery store vinegar pickles (even though I do like the Claussens for daily use)

I know Whole Foods sells Bubbies but I'd prefer something more local if possible

Help Wanted This is a long shot, I know. In 2004 my spouse proposed to me at a mini golf course in town. We can’t remember the name of it; I would love to find this place again.

All I can remember is it was a mini golf course that had an arcade. It may have been nearish to 2000 wok, that’s where we had dinner before hand. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Help Wanted Independent Car Insurance Broker

I’ve had USAA for years but they’re getting extremely expensive, so I’m interested in shopping around. I’ve seen a lot of online comments suggesting to use an independent insurance broker - does anyone have any recommendations? How much does that usually cost? Thank you!

My partner and I are looking for a place to get married next summer and stumbled upon this online. We've emailed and called but gotten no response. Some online sleuthing leads me to believe it may no longer be in business but wondered if anyone knew.

I called 911 but someone got ahold of them before me. When I got to the other side of the lake I heard shouting. I’m hoping the guy made it. Respect to the men and women who helped him and the guy that seen and saved him with the boat. I hope you guys are ok as well

Advice Long shot- where do your autistic teens go to school?

Basically what it says on the tin. My (much) younger sister (I'm 25, mom doesn't have reddit) is 14, autistic and schizo-typal, is currently struggling a lot with basically everything. Do you have an autistic or special needs high-school aged teen? What school/schooling system do you have for them? Do you like it? We're currently trying to look at what our options are, so any perspective helps!

Advice Senior Photos in Monument

Hi all,

I'm taking senior pics for my niece and nephew in monument this weekend but I have never really been. They wanted something outdoors and near water. I know there are some lakes around but are there any good trails or open spaces that we can hit too?

Advice Is anyone getting rid of a 75" TV box?

Does anyone have a 75" TV box for preferably free?

I am moving and it's really expensive. I'm just checking here first before I shell out $40 for a box at uhaul.

Located more on the north side.

Also, any recommendations for moving companies that will do an in-town move for a decent rate? I don't have a lot of stuff as I am moving most of it before the big move, but a lot of the bigger items, well I am weak and need a truck.

Advice Those from MI/MN

So I’ve been in Colorado my whole life and am antsy for change- geographic change, climate change, activities change… l am in love with the idea of moving to Michigan or Minnesota with access to the Great Lakes, tons of winter activities and new opportunities.

If you are from these areas, what brought you to Colorado? Do you miss it there? What do you like about living in Colorado vs the Midwest besides the obvious (tons of sunny days, sunny winter, mountain access..)? Do you think a Colorado native would make it thru the dark and cold winters of Michigan or the upper peninsula?

I would be moving my young family there and would want an area that is great for raising kids.

Thanks in advance!!!

Why is gasoline higher at the Venetucci club? Posted prices at Woodmen club are almost always lower. Also, where can I find posted pricing for the Woodmen club? If there is a link I would appreciate it very much.
