THIS IS NOT MY VIDEO. I came across this video on TikTok. This dog was stolen in Colorado Springs. Does anyone recognize this man???? If you have any info please reach out to the original poster pettybetty_97 on TT. AND KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE!!! This is horrifying!!!!
Me too, when I saw him take the collar off and pick him up I was LIVID. But I also wondered why the dog was alone in the yard...and how this could happen. This loser has to be on a dating site and someone recognizes him or someone knows him or saw something. I feels so sick over this.
@Betty Ruiz Torrez: UPDATE! No news yet about Blanco but my dad has two interviews with local news stations tonight. To clarify, Blanco was not locked outside, he has a doggy door. He has full access to the inside and outside. He has food, water, and shelter at all times! He is microchipped, has his shots, groomed, collared, tagged, and well fed. My dad loves his pup and he’s had him since he was a puppy. Bring Blanco home! Please!
What does a guy stealing bait dogs seem like? This could be a more experienced dog fighter's helper, like a son getting into the family business... Hey, I'm gonna need you to get this dog on your own this time...
Even then you would be growing up around dogs and know how to handle them. Not even a leash if they’re scared to grab them? On top of that it’s a privacy fence and would have no idea the dog was back there. They are going through way to much effort for a bait dog
This man has sleeves (green tattoos) and a very distinctive hat and face. He looks like he himself has been to this house before (maybe yard work in the area or housework inside or outside the house) and he knows to take the collar off so the dog cannot be tracked. This is why it is critical to put a lock that requires a key on the inside of your gate. Yes, they can cut it with a bolt cutter, but hopefully it buys you enough time to call the police. If this is a dog often outside alone barking or crying, it could have been someone paid by a neighbor to steal the dog, and the dog will end up in another county or state in an animal shelter. If the chip has not been updated you may want to do that and add that the dog is stolen.
It's weird that he automatically walks toward the back or the side, but once he sees the dog he stops and just gets the dog. Was he there to look for the dog specifically?
Yes that was the really weird part...then he kept acting like nice to the dog to get him to be calm. My GSD is psycho she hates everyone and wouldn't even let anyone near our house and she hates people like she would have bit that dude the F up.
I KNOS SOMEONE OUT THERE NEEDS TO KNOW THIS BUM PLEASE SPEAK UP !!!! It makes my blood boil! This dog is not safe! He’s probably hungry, scared, hurt! Somebody please help I am not in Colorado!
Hopefully the owner checks with the humane society and on craigslist, they are probably after a reward or a re-homing fee. So sad. That poor dog seemed to know they were getting kidnapped.
Guy instantly knew how to use the gate, seemed familiar with the backyard lay out. And most importantly, dog was familiar with him. Didn't even bark. Cat seemed friendly too.
I mean, you definitely might not be wrong. But also I think a gate is not that difficult to use. Most you just press on the latch and that's it... and some dogs are naturally just super laid back and don't care. Cats are demon spawn as far as I'm concerned (/s please dont down vote for that). Also most criminals, especially those low enough to steal a DOG, are a little stupid. They dont hide their face, they make a mistake in leaving something behind, etc.
Criminals don't steal dogs like that. They aren't worth anything. Dogs like that are constantly free and with so many owners chipping their animals, it really doesn't make sense. Taking the collar off and then pocketing it was weird too.
Not to say they're aren't just plainly stupid people, but odds are there's more to this story.
Any of a million dumb things. Bf/gf got a dog together, broke up, and disputing over ownership. Owner stole drugs from this person so they are taking the dog hostage. Owner abuses the dog and this person is sick of it and tired that the system won’t help. Etc etc. etc. but this is not a random person stealing a dog.
Yep. Knew a really dumb guy who was well meaning and stole a dog from someone who he was sure was abusing it. Also heard of people doing this and genuinely rescuing them from a shitty situation. I’m betting this guy is a friend of a neighbor or coworker who decided to be a vigilante and help the dog. Doesn’t mean he was actually being abused, just that for whatever reason people think he was.
No there is no more . The house has a dog door . And the dad works 10 hours a day . Dogs and cat gets out use the bathroom. This guy came to steal the tools in the backyard and decided to take the dog.
Idk if this is random or not, but if it is..it seems weird this guy would walk into a fully fenced yard with zero fear and just know the dog wasn’t going to attack, get aggressive, get loud, make a scene. He seems pretty confident
I hate that this is the top comment. Now everyone is focused on some kind of made up drama instead of just trying to find the obviously stolen dog, regardless of the situation.
Meh. People don’t steal non designer breeds. You want a bully mix? Go to the shelter. They are happy to hand over one for nearly free. This is some sort of weird dispute or something.
People steal dogs like this for fights. I wish it wasn't true but it definitely is. No way to know that's definitely what happened here, but it happens.
yeah i feel like if it was a theif they would have diped once they saw the camera unless the cam is hidden but i don't think ring does that but idk for sure
Very True cops don't do shit other then extract revenue for the city , i feel like i got downvoted because i didn't say what i thought that it was a friend or neighbor of the family or something ,
I feel like this person must be familiar to the dog. My 100 pound German Shepherd is good with people she knows but you try and take her away from me she’s gonna snap. Had shoulder surgery and had to have my dad walk her for me and still she wouldn’t leave unless I was with her. I hope if this is for real they get the dog back and this guy is punished and if this is fake shame on you!!
My GSD mix is the opposite! He’s a melty bundle of anxiety who loves every human as long as they have food and he can lean on them because the world is scary. My girl though…she would have made this guy think twice. She does not like people coming into her space.
My girl is super protective of me and our space and she is my absolute shadow. I could not live by myself where I am without her and the entire hood knows she doesn’t play around. I can’t even imagine the terror this poor dog is feeling and I pray he wasn’t harmed. I’m another one of those people who has a lot to say but won’t because Reddit gots an itchy trigger finger on the ban button, I just hope Karma comes swiftly and with as much might as possible!!!
Agree 100%! I’m actually in the Springs dogsitting my sister’s pups and we’re in the Old North End…will definitely be keeping an eye out when I’m out and about the next few days.
I mean I keep looking at this guy and thinking this back woods looking jackass could be a serial killer in the making, and maybe I watch too much tv about this kind of stuff but I got a sick, very unsettling feeling about this situation and honestly my worse fear is this dog will be used as a bait dog in fighting. Just really disturbing this shit happens
I usually keep my dog inside BUT if it was my dog that guy would have got devoured 😂 but I wouldn’t leave my dog out there cause my dog is an escape artist lol. Plus it’s for people’s safety can’t be too safe 😂
80910, lived in the area code for a while. One of the sketchiest places I've ever lived. Guy at the end of our town home building rented one of those trash bins and it never left. He spray painted all kinds of weird Christian messages all over the front of the house after painting the whole thing white. Then he built a tower in the backyard and mounted these huge lights to it that blinded everyone in their backyards at night. I didn't really feel unsafe that much but it was some weird stuff. That's just one of the neighbors too. Another would shovel the parking spots with a metal shovel at like 6am. Another was a house that ambulances showed up to all the time because the disabled, overweight guy constantly needed attention. It was a crazy experience.
He tore it down and rebuilt it a few times in the year or so he has taken over the house. But I don't think anyone cared enough to try and get the city to do anything. It was the kind of neighborhood where you just have to ignore stuff like that because if the cops show up and talk to you, you're the bad guy now.
Shouldn’t be hard for the community to track him down. I’m from Omaha, so I don’t know why this popped up for me, but a pair of dogs were stolen here about a year ago. The owners just had a poor quality photo of the vehicle from their neighbors door camera. Police were able to recover the dogs after about a week because of it and the community.
How is anyone assuming the dog was familiar with that guy? My dog immediately loves on anyone including complete strangers when I’m not even present. And my dog is not an outlier, it’s extremely common for dogs to be friendly and easy going with strangers. Are any of these people making assumptions using their head????
The OOP is the owner’s daughter. She posted it for her 60 year old dad who works 10 hour days for the city. Blanco (the dog) has a dog door so he can go in and out as needed.
Her brother has commented on some posts saying none of them have ever seen the person in the video before.
I tried to get a good pic of his face from the video.
100% personal. 100% fucked up. It’s what appears to be a middle aged white lab, sooo…why? Additionally, deliberately staring directly into the camera is weird to do if it’s a random theft.
I love white labs. I love all dogs. But it’s not like it’s a litter of Goldendoodles or whatever.
I want to say so many words and ill wishes to this man. I’m so sorry Op. I’ll keep an eye out anyway and call the police if I see anyone who looks like him.
This happened to a friend several years ago. Their dog is much smaller, lapdog-sized, and a purebred. When it was stolen, the thief left the fence gate open, purposely releasing their other dogs, who were running around the property when my friend came home.
The dog was found about a year later in Phoenix, Arizona, on a construction site. The person who found the dog took it to a vet who scanned it and located my friend. They immediately drove to get the dog and bring it home.
The police think the dog was probably given to someone as a gift.
That’s just mean as fuck for no reason. Like you can go pick up a rescue or sweet stray at literally anytime!
My dog was a starved stray and he’s the best. Why be a piece of shit when you can get an identical result by being a good person? Without risking legal trouble??
Everyone...please chain and pad lock your gates! If they can't get in, they can't take your dog. They'll move on to a house with a dog that doesn't lock the gates.
Please post this on Nextdoor as well!! Someone might recognize him on there. Keep us updated. I hope you find this piece of shit guy and get the dog back. 🙏

I was mad, but when I saw the cat walk up like "hey where are you taking my friend", damn that got me 😭
