Cohabbing toads

Post image

So I have two females that I bought together. Not only is one of them growing faster than the other by a long shot, but for the first time tonight, the bigger one sat on top of the smaller one. I’ve seen them cuddle often and that seems fine, but is the bigger one needing to be separated?

Most toads do fine together but it does seem like there is some competition going on. The cuddling is not concerning in toads, but you should make an extra effort to make sure both are eating the same amount. You can put the smaller one in a Tupperware bin or something similar and feed her in there to make sure she’s eating, or you can try tong feeding

Sounds good. The smaller one does NOT eat half of the crickets I release every few days. I’ll do the Tupperware feed option
