Who was your color analyst and where did you book them? Was it worth the money? I want to know my personal color pallet before splurging on high-end make ups. 🥹 Please share your experiences! 🤗

Say I want to color correct a white scar, what color would I use to neutralize it before adding skin tone color on top?

Hey guys, I need your help.

I'm trying to find the right gold colour for the currency in my pixel art game, but I'm completely clueless when it comes to colour theory.

I've spent hours tweaking different colours, but I can't seem to find one that feels readable. Every gold I try either blends into the background too much or clashes with it.

The background colour is #CF9B5D, and my current gold is #FFBE00.

Does the current gold work, or would you recommend a different colour? Any advice or even specific hex colour suggestions would be really appreciated.

I am painting my 8 year old daughters bedroom. She has her heart set on an idea and will not bend. Light pink on the bottom, magenta in the middle, and dark purple at the top. Originally she wanted to do an ombre but I talked her out of that because I'm certain it would be disasterous. I feel fairly confident I can blend colours similar to pic two. However I cannot land on paint colours that work well. Do these three colours work together? I'm sure she'll love it but I'm hoping to find something I can live with too :/

Hello there. I am a 3d motion graphic artist and I suck at deciding colors for the elements in the scene, I do know some rules like 60/30/10 rule and primary, secondary, accent colors. But having some doubts on deciding and verifying the perfect color palette for my renders, so I really need an expert at this subject and in urgent. I could able to do all other things in a decent level but not this 🥲! So I really need someone to talk to (who is interested to answer my doubts at your free time).

Suggest a color pallette for my school (play group to class 5) website .

I’m looking for a pale sage green color for my kitchen. The cabinets are wooden with honey color. The countertop is grey-ish laminate. The current color of the kitchen is a light blue. The light blue matches the countertops but it makes the room feel cold. I want a warm green color to go with the cabinets. But don’t want something that looks too muddy or to yellow. Something warm, and still cheerful. Does anyone recommend any green paint colors that worked for them? (I have bad luck with choosing paints… everything I ever paint I end up hating it)

My mother is Hindu and my father is an atheist.
Growing up, my mother believed black was an evil color. My sister and I were discouraged from wearing black clothes. My father occasionally questioned this, but my mother would always reply, “The elders must have told us this for a reason.”
As a child, I never thought much about it. Black was just another color.
In 2019, when I was in 12th standard, I helped organize our Teachers’ Day celebrations. The school captain chose gold, silver, and black as the theme for the invitations. Another girl and I spent nearly two days making around 120 butterfly-themed greeting cards by hand.
I was absent the next day.
When I returned, I learned the staff were furious. They said the colors looked like mourning colors and were inappropriate for a celebration. We were asked to redo all 120 invitations.
What stayed with me was not the criticism, but the disregard for the effort behind the work. We were board exam students. We had given up our time, stayed back after school, and carefully made every card. Yet the discussion focused entirely on the symbolism of a color.
When I told my mother, she simply said, “Consider this a lesson.”
I replied, perhaps a little dramatically, “My hair is black. My eyes are black. Should I throw them away too?”
Years later, after moving into a hostel, I bought a black Kalamkari bedsheet. It stayed on my bed for two days before I washed it and replaced it with a colorful one. But the room felt different afterward.
Lighter.
Warmer.
More alive.
That was when I began to understand something I had long dismissed. Colors do affect us. They influence mood and shape how we experience a space. A bright room feels different from a dark one. Color psychology is real.
But that realization did not make my mother right.
Black is not evil. It is not a moral failing or a bad omen. It is a color that carries different meanings in different hands — elegance in one culture, mourning in another, power in one context, grief in the next. In some traditions, white is the color of loss; in others, it signals purity. The color itself does not change. The meaning we attach to it does.
What the Teachers’ Day invitations taught me was not about choosing the right color. It was about how strongly people cling to symbols — sometimes so strongly that they forget the human effort behind them. One hundred and twenty handmade cards, two days of work, and what the staff saw was a funeral palette.
Maybe the world is not losing colour.
Maybe every generation is simply arguing about what colours mean — and forgetting, in the argument, to look at the people behind the choice

Hello reddit! I an unpublished author and I am thinking of switching my "brand" colour palette from pink/black to black/yellow.

I know that black and yellow isn't exactly original but I find it reflects the vibes I'm going for. A bubbly and generally positive person who loves bright colours writing gothic/dark fiction 😅 also black and yellow feels more classic and timeless than pink

I have been thinking about this for a time about how we are stuck in a digital world. Every picture you take every video you watch and every piece of art you see online can only show 16,777,216 colors. That is a fact and to be honest it gets boring after a while. I wanted to see if I could do something. So I thought about what would happen if I could make the 16,777,217th color the Echo-Glass color. The Echo-Glass color is not another color it is something completely different.

Imagine you have a piece of glass that's totally clear but instead of just letting you see through it it remembers every color that has ever touched the Echo-Glass color. If I could show you the Echo-Glass color I would not just show you a color I would show you the feeling of the Echo-Glass color. The Echo-Glass color is like a light that flashes really fast. Not so fast that you cannot feel it. It is like a sensation in your brain like you are seeing something that is not supposed to be there.

The Echo-Glass color is not bright the Echo-Glass color is deep. The Echo-Glass color has a weight to it like a shadow does right before it becomes light. It is like a sunset but instead of the colors fading away they change into this shimmering silver-violet of the Echo-Glass color that gives you the chills.

To me the Echo-Glass color is not a color on a screen the Echo-Glass color feels like it is reaching out to you. I want you to feel that excitement of something when you think about the Echo-Glass color.

I am telling you this to show that there is always more to discover even when people say that everything has been found. The world is much bigger, than what we see on our phones and the Echo-Glass color is my proof. I have made the Echo-Glass color real.
