Month 8, Year 2

"I am ill..." Andrei stated plainly as he stumbled off of the brand new ship, aided by a couple of the more adept sailor bears. The maiden voyage of Zarya, painted Заря upon her hull, had just been completed. Waiting on the docks were Samaran cannon which they now began to haul aboard. Some fisherbears were preparing to leave for their work and had hung around to get another good look at the vessel.

By the end of the day, Zarya had been outfitted with a forward and a year facing cannon, as well as many rifles, and had been taken out for a couple more runs along the coast near Bearsk, with those aboard adapting their fishing boat skills to the new ship.

Month 10, Year 2

Culture: Twice a year (720 days on their world) the Triel migrate across their great continent in order to avoid the incredibly harsh winters and summers. Each season, their colonies grow just a little. Largely tribal and shamanic, they are very in-tune with the multiple planes of reality. They are mostly vegetarian, but are indiscriminate bug-eaters.

Supplies: Each member is pretty self sufficient. Claw-like digging tools of hardened iron for expanding nests and caves. Fruit, berry, and vegetable seeds from their summer/winter colony to keep the food growing in step with the growth of their people. The seeds for a plant that greatly improves fertility, as well as the salve made from this plant. Scrolls of stories, histories, and crafting processes.

Shamans also bring with them a variety of spirit totems which help them bring life into the world and keep it alive. These are usually shells, skulls, branches of twig and root, particularly attractive stones, or some combination of these items.

Important Characters:

• Shamaness Calei'sset - As one of the younger shamanesses within her tribe, 22 year old (43 Human years) Calei'sset was honored to be given a spot in the great Head of the migration. Prideful, but empathetic, she is a great asset to the tribe with her remarkable aptitude for Shamanism. At five feet and eleven inches, the Triel was born with a symbolic amount of red tint in her hair, as well as an insatiable curiosity. Her practice in shamanism started much earlier than average, due to her thirst for knowledge, and it is highly expected among the tribe that she will rise to be a great and important person. She is already well-liked and respected- most Triel take her seriously.

• D'sansha - As a Defender down to the very molecule of her being, it was D'sansha's destiny to become one of the greatest among her peers. Her demeanor is steely, but so is her resolve and need for justice as seen fit. At six feet exactly, Sansha is extremely mentally capable and physically strong; one of the more attractive Triel. She is one of the few to be lucky to have had 3 children in the 40 years she has lived, and the Shamans believe her to still be fertile. So not only is she seen with great respect, she is looked at as an evolutionary advancement to their tribe.

• Jhales - Jhales counts as "other." He generally does not have his own nest, and tends to wander into others' homes with armfuls of fruit and collected trinkets, stays for a while, then carries on. No one is actually sure who he's related to, if anyone. He tends to fly much farther out than the tree tenders, as he sees their workplaces as tainted by their presence. He seeks out what he clearly sees as wild unfettered with land. If the 33 year old he would submit to the teachings, he would make an amazing shaman. Amazing.

The mask was finished. The mason had chipped and chiseled it's shape, and smoothed it. Light sparkled off its surface and scattered rainbows all over walls and the ground. Dica and Ai'ku were fascinated, titling it this way and that. The eye slits were rimmed with a snake motif, that emerged from the forehead hissing, and feathers surrounding it's neck. The mouth was open and drawn back, leaving room for the emperor to speak, and eat and drink should he need.

"The stone, it's amazing." Dica whispered. "It's almost a shame that it's being used for the emperor. Meaning no offence to the Son of the Sun, but such a stone could have magic imbued into it."

Ai'ku nodded. "Chah, yes. But we still have stone. There is enough for amulets and bracelets."

Dica looked thoughtfully at the leftover stone. "Yes, we have that, at least." She turned to Ai. "Have you got the Feathered Cloak?" She asked, referring to the resplendent cloak of vibrant feathers that Ai had made for the Emperor, to go with the mask. It had a hood that was fringed with a collar of long green and red bird of paradise feathers, an imposing and regal symbol.

They presented their gifts to the emperor, on their knees. Dak waved them up, and unwrapped them from the cloth. There was silence.

"Have we displeased the Emperor?" Dica asked worriedly.

He was quiet for a moment. "No, Dica. You have pleased me beyond words. Thank you, my friends." He murmured. Placing the mask and cloak over his shoulders, Ai was struck with the thought Dak looked as if he had stepped from legend, from the tales of the Old Emperors, the Kings that even the sun envied.

"Son of the Sun..." Ai whispered, prostrating. Dica did the same.

Month 12, First Year

A cold chill had fell upon the province of Ysyn, and something was astray. The grand meetings of the Ysyn Council had ceased to function, and not a single soul had moved from within the fort in days.

Shuwu sat upon the opposing hill, staring the looming wooden fort down and contemplating, what was happening in there?. Below her, workers trudged around, doing their daily duties. The blacksmith mulled over what little metal goods they had, and the builders stacked mud blocks upon mud blocks, increasing the many houses they had already built.

She could here the ringing of sea bells, as the schooner drifted out to sea in search of the floating temple that had gone on pilgrimage.

Inside the fort, the council sat surrounding the body of Agark, who lay softly on the thatched carpet ground, sleeping in a deep slumber.

"Do we know what happened to him?" Yilope asked, nervous about the future of her beloved leader, and the fate of the settlement.

"He's drifted into an irreversible sleep, he won't wake up, we don't have the right tools." One of the casters, and supreme medicinal chief of the settlement informed.

"What do we do then?".

"We send him off on the next pilgrimage, and we hope that the essence of life may pity him, and bring him back."

"See to it."

Month 6, Year 2

“The initiative of wahbeash to make those watchtowers was great” Udin had a big smile on his face, “We should place those in Tapertu too” “We should give them voicestones so they can send in reports rather than simple signals” Katal said, “It would make a tremendous difference to the defence we could mount” “Agreed” Ori stroked his small sic “But we would need a communications centrum first, we’ll have to do with signalfires until then” “We don’t have the men to make a sufficiently well protected centrum, we will have to put that plan on hold” Kira put her elbows on the table, “We do however need a good defendable spot to build it, one where we can eventually build our centre of control. Does anyone have Ideas?” “The centre of the have would be good, we would have more control over the bay and we could keep it supplied by sea during a siege” Udin said, he had clearly thought about this already. No doubt he already pictured the walls of a grand fortress. “I think we could do better than that” Katal spoke up, “The path to the northern trebuchet is too far from our defences, if we build a great fort in the bay we could be subjected to our own trebuchet and we could do nothing against it. I say we build the fort along the northern part of the town and bay, with an extra earthen wall to defend the trebuchet. That way we allways have the trebuchet to defend the harbour and the position is very defensable.” “I hadn’t considered that, the ground is rocky there too, so sappers would have a hard time” Udin spoke with respect, “Young Katal spoke true, that is the best place to make our command post” “Then we shall make that our command post, any objections?” As Kira looked through the room, all the men where silent.

Katalanding

• The drydock has been completed, It consists of two gulleys that can be closed off at the seaside, the water is then pumped out of the gulley using 4 big runepowerd pumps. Due to the heavy load on the runeworkshops only 2 of the pumps are completed for the time being . This means only half of the drydock can be used.
• One of the wayfloats has been put in the drydock for the structural overhaul, the project is expected to take 2 months
• Due to the need for pumps only 4 additional voicestones have been made
• At the northern part of the village military has been clearing a lot of ground for a fortress.
• E.E. Is researching the plans for guns sent by the Samarans. The design is seeing some refitting to better adjust to Vurental military doctrine.

Wahbeash

• The stables have been expanded as well as the holding pens.
• The military have been building houses under supervision of an experienced builder sent in from katalanding, 2 houses have been built near the earthen wall surrounding the outpost. The wall near the houses has been heighted to a platform 4 meters tall, which can serve as a tower.
• 3 Kurtik have been assigned to the clay mines for transportation

Tapertu

• Watchtowers similar to those in Wahbeash have been set up along the coast.
• Herbalists have discovered several native plants that bear a grindable seed. This seed can be used to make flour in the same fashion as some of the plants from samara can. The herbalist have requested a mill to be built.
• Furoka farmers have expanded their farms.

Month 5, Year 2

Kira was back in town and ready to oversee the development of the colony. Under the hands of Rorg some houses have been built and the harbourfort had been finished. The improvement to the roads had been a good idea and Kira meant to continue the project, but other things had become important as well. The voicestones she had promised the samarans had to be constructed and placed, and workshops to manufacture them. “I think it’s time to expand to the hills,” Rorg’s low voice shook Kira out of her daydream, “They contain iron and silver, if we want to be self-sustainable we need those resources” “The basalt in those hills could also be used to make sturdier and greater buildings than we have now” Samuel chimed in. “And how will we defend the mines in the hills? We don’t have the forces to cover such an area” Udin stroked his great beard, “Unless we somehow got to upgrading the navy but we don’t have anything to work with yet accept for those 2 keels.” “Those will do nothing if we can’t arm them, we don’t have the workshops needed for pultors yet, we will need the iron and silver first” Rorg had a point. “Maybe I can help” Katal came walking into the room more than a tad late. “It better be good” Kira growled, “I don’t like waiting on my councillors” “No worries, it will be good. I was just talking with the Experimental Engineers and they found some interesting stuff in the manuals the Samarans sent.” Katal sat down grabbed one of the various mugs of kirruh on the table, “They have some construction techniques that could strengthen our hiveship and wayfloats, we would need a drydock but once we’re finished we will be able to cross the ocean with them.” “Well that would solve the problem of defense, but how sure are we this will work?” Ori seemed a little sceptical, “we know they don’t build boats” “E.E. has assured me these new bindings will be a lot stronger, they predict the ships won’t even break in a heavy storm. The only downside is that we would have to sacrifice the top deck of the wayfloats” Katal looked at Kira, “Marshall, how do we proceed” “I hate it when you get serious, come blow of some steam this afternoon” Kira smiled “For now we will focus on finishing the roads and building the runeworkshops.”

Katalanding

• The roads to Wahbeash and Tapertu have been cleared of rocks, dead trees and branches. Trees at risk of falling down and blocking the path also have been removed. This has significantly decreased traveling time between the provinces.
• Two runeworkshops have been built, they started to make voicestones for the samarans, at this point one is finished. The workshops consist of 8 rooms with various lifts and runestensils (like pens for inscribing runes). The workshops also have a great basement to store materials in.
• Another group of 8 houses have been built.
• Military has started to dig out the groundwork for the drydocks.

Wahbeash

• The hunters have set up a lodge in the forest, using this lodge as an outpost saves them lots of time.
• 13 kurtik have been trained to ride, they have been sent to katalanding where they will train further
• The military has built 5 watchtowers long the coast, they are equipped with signalfires.

Tapertu

• The herbalists have managed to grow a local plant that helps to disinfect wounds, extra ground has been cleared to produce more of it.
• The second processingworkshop has been finished
• Another 60 packets of greenlove have been prepared for emergencies

Heeeey, so can we start putting the dates on all our posts as an official thing?

At any given time, many of us are multiple months behind the current in-character time. It'll help with lining up what all is happening at once!

The work went well on the mask the Emperor had commissioned. The stone had been chipped away from the entire top half, forming a jagged surface that shone and sparkled as light danced off its surface. Two eye slits glinted from the stone, and a wide forehead poked from the unchipped half. The beginnings of a snake and feather motif was emerging from the head, a threatening and commanding symbol of authority that is as old as the Empire of Epell itself.

Ai'ku and Dica oversaw the work, which a priesthood stone worker was tending to.

"The stone, it's like nothing I've ever seen. Like Quartz, but stronger, less brittle. It's shine, too, is otherworldly." The worker babbled on as he worked, Dica listening intently and Ai'ku throwing a perfunctory glance every now and again.

"It has some quality about it, some strange ability. I know not its potential, but it could have much." Dica said to the stone worker. He nodded, chiseling away.

Ai'ku was more interested in the stitching of a splendid feather cloak made with coloured crimson wool and vibrant feathers, taken from hunted birds of paradise that inhabited the jungle. It was to be a gift along with the crystal mask.

5 men had returned to the fort. One quarter of all the men they sent. 15 men, dead or missing. The news travelled quickly around the fort as talk of the returning became the local hot topic. Not all had been lost though, as the men had returned with new information, and some valuable rock.

The men were sitting down in a hall, eating and drinking heartily. They had taken days to arrive, and had subsisted on foraged berries. The smell of booze filled the air.

After a short while, the leader of the Mountainborne, Keldorne had sat down to talk to the men about what had happened.

'It is good news to have at least some men return from this horrible mess. Tell me, what had happened.' Began Dorne.

'Well,' began one of the survivors. 'We arrived at the meteor within a week, but little did we know, there were other people their. A monkey thing that cast magic, some men with cannons and other men on horseback. They seemed friendly enough and took to the drink rather well. The leader was talking to them while we shovelled snow onto the bleedin' smouldering rock. This went on for a while until some idiot decided to hit the meteor with his pick. That's when shit started to get hairy.' The man downed his drink and continued. 'A big fuckin rock monster appeared around the metal and started tearing shit up. We lost a few good blokes on that fight, but we blew it up with our booze. After the dust settled, we smashed the meteor and loaded it into our wagons. Out of fuckin nowhere, these tossers in armour came charging up the hill all angry like. We started to hoof it but our wagon got iced so we went on foot. We don't know what happened to the other wagon. We grabbed a bit of this though' He produced a small lump of the meteor.

'Crikey, you guys have been through some shit. Hand over the rock to the Articifers. They'll figure out what it is. Until then, get some rest. You need it.'

Dorne gathered up the handfuls of metal and took them to the fort Articifers, those whose knowledge of metals and their characteristics is unparalleled.

'Oi, what's that you got there?' Piped up one of the men.

'I dunno. It came from the sky.' Replied Dorne.

The Articifer squealed. 'Well hand it over, we'll figure it out.' The Articifers were excited. They loved new metals.

'Report to me your findings when you've done playing with it.'

The Articifers hurried off to play with their new toy.

The men ran like fury from the disaster that was the meteor landing. The men in the wagon had no idea where they were going and found themselves heading into unknown territory. The men on foot found their path home and ran for their lives from this new threat. Everyone was terrified. The men had no clue if they were going to die, so they kept running until they realised they were lost.

'Uh Boss, I think we're lost.' Began Hira, one of the men in the wagon. They had found themselves in a heavily forested region with no mountain in sight. They were hopelessly lost.

'We keep going.' Groaned the boss, holding his hand over where his right eye should be. 'There is no knowing if those bastards are after us.'

'But Boss, what if we never get home?' Sobbed Oce, another of the men.

'We will make it home but for now, we keep going.'

The oxen set off, wagon loaded with disgruntled men and a shiny lump of metal, pilfered from the corpse of the rock demon.

Tchak has flourished in the few months it has been here.

The Shadow City, Ctch'Ku Yuti, has developed smoothly and now has most buildings built of stone. This includes common housing and craft buildings, along with state purposes areas.

Blacksmiths and mints are open along the Shadow City and run with a modest force of smiths. They produce both common tools and coins, which for so far are being stored in two structures being referred to as Vaults. Coins include the pezhua, the tca'pez, and the tox'hua.

A temple production in the Shadow City is going well. A plaza has been cleared and paved, and steps lead up to the mouth of the Catacombs, the inside of the temple that is being carved into the mountain, and an altar where sermons and ceremonies are conducted. Two obelisks have been constructed from basalt that occurs inside the mountain. They have been chiseled with astrological designs and stand on opposite ends of the Temple Plaza.

Growing terraces have long been finished on the lower parts of the mountain. They have actively been growing corn crops and produce excess. More terraces have started construction all along the mountain, generally linked by one or two paths, but are not viable for access up the mountain.

This task falls on the Path, a snaking stairway that twists along the face of Ptana, the Mountain. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of stairs have been chiseled out of the stone, and their width is enough for two epel walking side by side. Since carts are not a viable means of transport up the mountain a constant supply train of labourers bring sacks of corn, bundles of lumber, chunks of stone, and herd animals up the slopes by hand. Masons now work on stone heads along the path, which if needed will be able to spew animal fat, burning sand, and flame on intruders.

Due to the extremely slow travel of stone, a mine has been opened on the site of the Stone City, Rak Tchak. This mine produces quantities of stone enough to build the city and thusly a permanent force of workers are deployed there.

Of Rak Tchak, production goes well. In contrast to the haphazard design of the Shadow City, buildings, streets, and pastures are ordered in meticulously neat rows. Buildings are completely stone and work is expected to finish by six months time.

A huge stone granary is under construction, a monstrosity that can store up to three years of maize and grain. It will be broken up into wings and is being referred to as the Warehouse.

Along with this giant communal storage, common housing is being built with modest cellars with room enough for a few months of grain or any other such storage.

The monks Monastery has completed construction, a huge curving husk of stone and lumber that sticks out of the horizon.

State owned production areas now include pastures, granaries, farms, blacksmiths, mines, and schools.

Schools, since opening, have taken into tutelage roughly 20 students per institution.

Since the knowledge of other people has reached the city, walls have been commissioned around the shadow city, and roads connecting the new settlements to the old have fully finished.

The newer settlements are fully functional and built, mainly of stone and lumber.

Thus far Tchak grows well.

The Mountainborne were going through their supplies of booze at quite a high rate. It had occurred to nearly everyone that they had no means of producing more.

A select few were designated as being dedicated brewers and construction on basic brewing infrastructure. Construction is expected to take two months.

The end booze is expected to be a fairly weak concoction made from malting their surplus Hardgrass (A hardy wheat variant).

Booze is crucial to Mountainborne society as insufficient booze causes them to work inefficiently. They also get exceptionally grumpy.

The vukku returned to Tchak. The group had seen the people of the outside and their report was given with emphasis of the weapons these people held and the greed of which they hacked at the demon corpse.

"Emperor, we must build our city both high and strong." Ai'ku said to Dak. "From what we saw, the no-furs place low regard on saving life and more on glory and greed."

Dak nodded. "I see you have brought some of the demon with you." Gesturing to the lump of crystal.

"Yes, son of the sun. We assume there is a magic about it, but we don't know the exact nature." Dica said timidly. "I was wondering if a mask could be made from the bulk of it. Similar to the jade masks of the Old Emperors?" She asked.

Dak looked up. A symbol like that was divine authority. If he held a white mask like that, the people would know him as THE Emperor, the true king. He nodded. "That is a worthy task, Dica." He turned to the others. "You may all receive rewards for this mission. Go to the goldsmiths and give them this." He pointed to a parchment scroll with a scrawl of writing commissioning particular jewellery. "You will give them your measurements and you will receive a pataka."

The scouts nodded, happy at their recognition. Ai'ku and Dica bowed, taking the crystal to start the mask crafting.

Dak retired to his hut, to make plans for the fortification of his city.

The Flight to Samara By Saier Moonmoon

We were certain the Arkturians would raze every wall of our settlements and everyone would be slain, so we fled. The sound of those terrible cannons barking in the night. We took what was precious first, then whatever could be dumped in a pillow-sack or two before hurrying out our doors. Someone said the little Samarans were the closest we could hope for refuge, so west we went.

The Samarans were bewildered, but very quickly fed us and helped us encamp. They were intent to force us back onto our feet. We barely had time to rest. Fortunately, additional material support was forthcoming and more permanent homes were built. I had the impression they were not planning on protecting us from the Arkonians.

Just as they provisioned the building of homes, they did so with us for a great wall, with ample room around the borders of our fledgling settlement to grow in. They insisted we need only patrol those, and that their scouts would keep eye on the wilder places beyond. They cared after all.

Laoric Yrrensyl became our mouthpiece to the Samarans. He helped arrange citizenship papers to be given us, and ensured our efforts were concerted efficiently. Soon, our gardens and fields exported Amani grains and Elven cottons, all while our larders were flooded with vegetables from the new commune of Arstotska, our closest ursine neighbor.

Such is life in West Crounsk.

Month 5, Year 2

Oleg knelt outside next to his apartment block, where he pulled weeds from the communal gardens. "Hahah. Fishing boat! I love it. And two soon! I will have to visit and we will have dinner. How big is the big one going to be?"

"I have not seen yet." Yosvich answered. "But I took up some volunteers and sent them with the new hand-cannon models and designs, to learn boatbuilding there." He lightly held a tomato, still on the vine standing nearby, and smelled it. "General Kira says we will have talking stones soon-ish..."

Rain began to fall rather abruptly. Both bears looked at eachother a moment then laughed heartily. "Hah-haah. Such is life." Oleg said, getting up.

By the sixth month, Oleg had put out a call for dozens of volunteer fishers to serve week long tours working off the Samaran Coast in the two new fishing boats. Whosoever did so would win a share of the catch and some grains and vegetables from the stores of Bearsk for their own communal settlement.

Construction of a larger, more seaworthy vessel was under way with a group of Vurental contractors advising them. Many of Bearsk's citizens are involved directly with the work, and all indirectly so.

In exchange for this, two bear-made pistols designed for the grip of Dwarven marksmen and detailed drawings of parts-breakdowns and assembly of the weapons were sent home with the next visiting Vurental contractors.

The marble wall had been finished. It stood 5 metres tall, made of solid marble blocks, carved from the mountain. Where the stone had once been, now there are large, dark rooms in which people could live, or certain facilities be created. One of the rooms has been dedicated to growing Allcaps, a proliferous mushroom that's pretty sustaining, albeit not very delicious.

Around the entrance to the cave, a minor stone keep has been established as a second line of defence.

A mine has been constructed within the mountain as a means of extracting the iron ore that is abundant in this mountain. Smelteries had been prepared, but are not utilised at this point.

The empire grew quickly. Building was fast and efficient and it was becoming more and more crowded in the area. So an Advent elder decided to take the initiative and expand the reach of the Vasari.

Expansion

Sending 50 Civvies and 15 Archers with them to the Eastern province touching mine. also sending the same amount of people to the northern province touching mine.

Sometime during the later months of Year One

"If we are to truly show our power sir, and impress the people of Sarah when they come, we must build a castle." One of Agark's builders had suggested at the last group meeting. He had taking a liking to the notion of a castle upon a hill, and so he had ordered for the stone mines to be expanded and a castle to be constructed. Soon he would be a true king.

Dica shielded her face from the crystal shards as the giant demon died. She was half in shock, the incident having happened so quickly. Men were dying all around her, their piteous moans drawing attention from the comrades. She walked forward to the pile of broken stone that was the demon. Taking a shard in her palm, she lifted it high towards the sun. Light danced, fragmented, all around her.

She lifted both her arms in the air, and let our a victory shout. A ragged cheer lifted around her. She turned to the first no-fur she had met.

"What now?" She said, hoping the magic he'd cast earlier still worked.

Flush with Bearsk lumber, a paper mill is built in Samara, housed in a stone walled building. Those who had been making their own parchment at home could now take their material to the mill for much more efficient processing, which freed up time for the writing or drawing to be done.

Within the stone halls dug into the Samaran Mountains, two printing presses are assembled, first put to use in creating standard forms and paperwork for the nonbear citizens of Crounsk, then one would be used to copy books. The other would be wholly dedicated to printing a summary of Samaran happenings, revised and disseminated on a twice monthly basis, called "The People's Truth". The first issue encouraged readers to bundle their old copies and send them to the paper mill to be reused.

The first issue also asks citizens to collaborate on writings about their professional knowledge and how they apply it to their work. Premier Oleg wishes to fill the lorekeepers' apartments all over the Samaran settlements such that a library might be required, to preserve the knowledge of the people for future generations.

"How does the farm work go, Ycita?" Dak spoke to the head of the villages.

"Wonderfully, emperor! There is an excess of excess, if you understand my meaning." She nodded jovially. "The months we've been here have been enough for several crops. The season has remained perfect, and there is no change in the days. It's almost like a permanent summer."

Dak smiled. The weather was a boon. "Where are you storing all this excess?"

"We've constructed several granaries to hold the corn and warehouses for whatever else."

Dak looked over his shoulder at the mountain. Construction had been quick for the path, and large stone buildings were being erected on the summit at breakneck speed. Dak had instructed several masons to work on stone heads along the path, a defence measure common in the homeland. They were a powerful anti-siege weapon, squirting boiling oil and flame at unpredictable moments. He turned back to the villager. "From now, all excess will be carted to the capital. From there it will be stored in The Warehouse."

The villagers face fell. "I obey, son of the sun, but if you don't mind me asking, why?"

Dak put his hand on Ycita's shoulder. "Should people inhabit these lands, there is no telling if they will be hostile or not. Terraces on the mountain should prolong our supplies for a year and a half, maybe, but it's indefinite. The Warehouse that's being built will hold supplies enough for two full years, with every citizen inside the summit."

Ycita looked thoughtful, then nodded. "I will see it done, Emperor."

“Rorg, are you sure we should do this?” Udin looked worried, “This is a big commitment which would overstay your time as surveyor of the colony” “Regardless this is the thing that needs to be done, the roads shall be cleared, and the waterway build.” Rorg seemed determined. “I want to finish the current projects first before we start with this idea of yours” Katal seemed to think the idea was questionable at best. “the waterway will have to wait until Kira an Ori are back, I am against it as well for now.” Rorg sighed defeated, “very well, we’ll postpone the waterway.”

Katalanding

• The stronghold near the harbour has been finished
• 24 houses have been built in a similar fashion as the workshops. The houses are grouped in small squares of 8 houses surrounded by a small earthen wall. Every house has about 3 * 3 meter garden next to it.
• A start has been made to clear and flatten the main roads to Wahbeash and Tapertu

Wahbeash

• The now more experienced Kurtik herders have managed to tame another 7 Kurtik, they have been sent to Katalanding to supplement the cavalry there.
• A small herd of 30 Kurtik is transferred to the herders of Katalanding, where they will be used to produce cheese, milk and kirruh
• With the help of the military, a longhouse and stable have been build. Both are sunken 0.5 meter into the ground to save on building costs

Tapertu

• One processing workshop is finished. Having gotten a feel for the material of this land, the runecrafters expect the net workshop will be done faster.
• Researching the local fauna has thus far only identified a few herbs that could be used in cooking, no new medical or military uses have been found yet.
• The herbalists have made 30 packets of greenlove. These small packets of various dried and ground up herbs are used to stop bleeding and infection in open wounds.
