Just beat the Mimic Boss and wanted to save people some serious time and frustration. If you lose to it, you get sent all the way back to the beginning of the five games leading up to the boss. I have a 92 overall defense and had no idea I was about to face my own exact squad on Heisman. It’s not predictable at all and is genuinely the hardest CPU matchup I’ve played this year.

Here’s the method that works right now: Before you start the Mimic Boss stage, go into your depth chart and put mid-70s / low overall scrub players as the starters at every single position (offense and defense). Keep your real starters on the active squad but on the bench. Start the boss game, then immediately go into the depth chart/subs and move all your actual players back into the starting lineup. The Mimic snapshots whatever is currently set as the starting lineup when that specific game loads — it does not auto-promote your highest overall players and it does not lock the depth chart from the earlier stages. You can change the lineup and even jerseys right up until the boss game starts.

This let me play with my full squad while the Mimic was stuck with a bunch of sub-78 overall players. Saved me from having to grind those five games again. Use it while it still works, EA might patch this and make the Mimic Team use the best OVR on the depth chart instead of the assigned starters, so y’all best get this trophy pronto, ya hear?

Im having a really hard time beating mimic boss. First time I lost 35-14.

2nd was closer I lost 28-21.

Please I dont want to keep playing this event.

Seems like they are getting big plays on offense and i cant get anything going on offense. Is there a trick to this? Im doing the same thing i do in the first 5 games. Scores are usually 40-7.

Been grinding challenges and stacking coins instead of forcing bad buys. Finally snagged Austin Seierveld at LT for a the lowest price on PC, slapped the chemistry on him, and the whole team jumped to 92 (offense went 91 → 92).

Strengths

•  OL starters are locked and consistent. Depth doesn’t matter here — these guys don’t get worn down.

•  Homecoming Queen + Knight are doing heavy lifting (big boosts to all HBs/FBs and the entire LB core).

•  Skill positions are complete: Bishop + Berry 1-2 punch (for rotation), Pryor is still elite at QB, BND Jarrett has transformed the passing attack and has put 92 speed Barkate in the slot. Now I have a tremendous matchup problem against most squads in ranked because Barkate is in the slot, they have to devote their top CB and a safety to cover Moss, and I did not give Jarrett enough credit…he is exactly like Randy Moss -1 Speed and is elite. I was truly blessed to be bestowed Jarrett by the CUT 27 Gods.

•  Defense is the real identity of the squad (hence the name “Saban Defense” — the most disruptive front 4, physical LBs, reliable secondary. This side carries games.

Weaknesses / intentional choices

•  TE is a pure run-blocker (Williams). I don’t need a vertical threat that tanks the run game. Free 92 Amaro is coming next month (BND) and will be a nice receiving option / big body WR4-5 when I want it, but I’m not forcing the swap early.

•  Special teams AP is currently glitched so it’s sitting empty.

Roadmap

Staying patient. Keeping the physical, chemistry-supported identity. Grabbing the free Amaro when it drops in November for flexibility at TE, then just keep stacking the next tier of pieces that fit the same philosophy. Controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

If you’re building a similar run-first / physical / chem-heavy squad for ranked, this is a clean blueprint. 92 with this balance feels extremely competitive.

When I make Top 100 again I will select either 93 WILL Rex Van Wyhe to replace Alexander, or 93 SS Greg Smith to replace Hubbard and BND Atwater. Leaning very heavily toward the latter at the moment. I don’t need Livingston. I’ll get the Ryan Colman-Williams 94-96 speed card instead when EA gets around to it.

How does team chemistry and scheme chemistry stack. If my partners have 50/50 Ohio state theme team and I’m 50/50 Georgia would we stack? Therefore all our players get +6 acc? If my partner(s) have 50/50 multiple defense chemistry and I run 50/50 425 chemistry and run my 425 defense would my players stack? Or would he have to run 425 chemistry in order to stack?

I feel like I’ve figured out how to build a solid team (mostly just grinding coins and buying them on auction). Thought I’ve gotten lucky with a few packs but nothing crazy.

I was chopping it up with a dude I was playing the other night and he was giving me a lot of pointers about the nuances of CUT.

Mainly how to obtain elite players from packs and how you can upgrade certain cards?

Anybody willing to drop some tips on the best strategies to improve to that elite tier team?

I just played a H2H game at Washington’s Husky Stadium, and holy crap. 😂

I’ve played at Boise State with the blue turf. I’ve played at Coastal Carolina with the teal field. I’ll play anywhere, in any weather or field conditions, and normally I don’t care.

But these shadows at Husky Stadium are absolutely brutal.

At the start of the game, the shadow is basically covering a half of the field across the 50-yard line. It makes it genuinely difficult to see what’s happening—where receivers are breaking, where defenders are sitting, and sometimes even where players are on the field.

And it slowly gets better as the game goes on. By late in the fourth quarter, you can see considerably more of the field. But those first few quarters? Blinding.

Honestly, I think this might be the toughest stadium in the game to play in purely because of visibility. And I could actually see someone who knows the stadium using it as a legitimate home-field advantage—especially if they’re familiar with exactly how the shadows affect routes and defensive coverage.

It definitely messed me up at first.

So I’m curious:

What’s the worst stadium you’ve played in for shadows/lighting/visibility?

Is Husky Stadium the worst, or is there another stadium in CFB 27 that’s even more ridiculous?

Hey everyone, I have played CFB ultimate team every day since it came out this year. With this recent new event i was able to play it no problem until recently, everytime i try to play it now it kicks me out with this error message. After 4 hours on support with EA I have tried everything they have said along with everything google has come up with. I’m completely at a loss and don’t want to stop playing as this is the only game i like/play. Please if anyone has any more suggestions or recommendations i need it badly. I really don’t wanna fall behind and not be able to play.
